Diablo Controls AVI-222 2-channel Card Receiver Automatic Vehicle Identification
The AVI-222 Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) Receiver is a two channel card-rack type receiver and fits in a standard 222 rack. It detects and identifies vehicles equipped with the Diablo Controls AVI transmitters.
The AVI-222 uses two loops (one per channel) installed in the roadway surface to receive the transmitter's code. Each receiver channel operates independently and identifies all 19,683 codes. Each channel can be programmed to set any code as either valid or invalid. Valid codes activate the appropriate Solid State Output and LED Indicator.
The AVI-222 receiver utilizes the LADOT2070 Loop Comm protocol. Other protocols are available at customer request.
Channel Enable / Disable Switch: A front-panel switch is available to enable or disable the AVI detection. When the switch is in the DISABLE position, the channel will not recognize any of the coded signals. When the switch is in the ENABLE position, the channel operates in a normal manner.
Valid Indicator: Each channel has a front panel red LED that indicates the detection of an AVI code that has been programmed as Valid.
Fault Indicator: Each channel has a front panel red LED that indicates an open circuit loop condition.
Communication Port: The AVI-222 receiver has a front panel mounted DB-9 RS-232 connector that allows data to be communicated to and from external equipment. The AVI receiver status and all received AVI code values (either valid or invalid) are available through the communications interface. The AVI-222 receiver accepts commands to set individual codes as valid/invalid, clear all code validity to customer-specified default values, and reset AVI receiver channels.
Currently, the AVI-222 receiver utilizes the LADOT2070 Loop Comm protocol. Other protocols are available at customer request.
Receiver Address DIP Switches: A 4-position DIP switch located on the PC board is used to select one of sixteen possible address bit combinations for the AVI-222 receiver, resulting in a maximum 32 AVI receiver channels on a single serial communications link.
Solid State Outputs: Optically isolated 40 VDC maximum outputs.
Power: 12 to 30 VDC, 160 milliamps maximum.
Size: 4.50 inches high x 1.12 inches wide x 6.875 inches deep.
Weight: 6.0 oz.
