These exit wands will not work without one of these. The wand will be on it's highest sensitivity and the gate will open for no apparent reason. I have tried 3 completely different gate set ups and each did the same thing without this board. The gate would cycle every 1-2 minutes. When you install this the yellow wire goes to the yellow wire from the wand and the black wire goes to the shield wire AND the battery ground. Set the pot to 1/3 to test. With 50 and 100' wands buried 12"-18" in Florida sand 1/3 was perfect. No other adjustment was needed.

My gate was continuously opening and closing after the FM140 wand was installed. After ordering this tuning pot I was able to adjust the sensitivity to a point where the sensor works but doesn't open from atmospheric interference. This item should come included with all exit wands.

Rating Excellent product.

I wanted to change my sensor before found this item. I don't understand why Mighty Mule didn't write about their potentiometer in their installation instruction.

This is a must have if you have an exit wand and this company is a must deal with. Shipping was fast and efficient. Great place to deal with and the product solved my problem. I wish Mighty Mule would have informed me of this when I called their technical service for help.

This is a bizarre situation. This part I believe is essential to make the Mighty Mule gate opener exit wand operate properly. Out of the box it is too sensitive and the gate opens on its own or stops closing on its own. When the yellow wire from the wand is disconnected from the controller it has no sensitivity at all. This product installs between the yellow wire on the wand and the V- terminal in the controller and works perfectly. I don't know why it is not included with every wand or as an accessory if the wand is too sensitive.

Installation was a breeze. A common knowledge of electrical theory will help you as this doesn't come with any instructions.

I tried everything that the manufacturer told me to do to get my traffic sensor to wok properly. I was getting ghost signals about ten times a day that caused the gate opener to open and close on its own. I read the review from the contractor on this site in which he said the opener wouldn't work without the Mighty Mule P C board with tuning pot. I decided to give it a try and it worked great. I just had to make a little adjustment. Wiring was simple just the yellow and black ground wire. The only issue was that there were no instructions in the box.
