Linear MegaCode MCT-3 3-Channel Visor Remote Transmitter - DNT00089
The Linear MegaCode MCT-3 is a visor-style transmitter used with compatible 318 MHz Linear MegaCode receivers and garage or gate operator radio systems. MegaCode is different from older dip-switch products because each transmitter is factory-coded in the MegaCode format rather than being set with a row of coding switches. This helps reduce accidental duplication and gives the installer a clean learn-code style transmitter for compatible operators and stand-alone receivers. The MCT-3 is best suited for sites that already have Linear MegaCode equipment and need a replacement or additional remote. Correct radio identification matters because many Linear-branded remotes look similar but may use Multi-Code, Delta-3, block-code, or other formats that will not learn to a standard MegaCode receiver.
Compatible With
Compatible Receiver Families

Technician Note
Program the transmitter directly to the compatible MegaCode receiver or operator according to the receiver instructions. If the receiver will not learn the transmitter, confirm radio format and memory capacity before replacing additional remotes.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the existing receiver or operator uses Linear 318 MHz MegaCode.
- Match the number of channels needed for the gate, garage door, or auxiliary relay.
- Check whether the site uses standard MegaCode or block-code equipment.
- Confirm the receiver memory is not full.
- Replace the battery if the LED is weak or the transmitter range is poor.
Professional Advisory
Do not connect, modify, or bypass operator control wiring to make a remote work. If the receiver is not responding, have a qualified gate or garage technician check receiver power, antenna condition, memory, and operator safety circuits.
Questions and Answers
What receiver type does the MCT-3 work with?
The MCT-3 works with Linear MegaCode receivers and operators using the 318 MHz MegaCode radio format. It is not for Multi-Code, Delta-3, or other non-MegaCode receiver formats.
How many devices can the MCT-3 operate?
This 3-channel transmitter can send three independent MegaCode signals, so it can control up to 3 compatible receiver channels when programmed correctly.
Is DNT00089 an old or current part number?
DNT00089 is the part number listed for this transmitter. Some Linear MegaCode transmitters have newer direct replacement numbers or related service numbers, so match the transmitter model and radio format before substituting.
Will this replace a dip-switch remote?
No. MegaCode transmitters are factory-coded and do not use the same dip-switch format as Linear Multi-Code or Delta-3 products.
What battery does the MCT-3 use?
Common references list the MCT-3 with two CR2032 batteries on many newer compact references; older MCT styles should be checked by battery compartment. Check the battery compartment on the supplied transmitter before replacing batteries.
