Linear Pro Access GSLG-A-243 GSLG-A Slide Gate Operator - 1/2 HP 460V 3 Phase
The Linear Pro Access GSLG-A-243 is part of the GSLG-A commercial slide gate operator family and is configured as a 1/2 HP, 460V three-phase unit. It is intended for vehicular sliding gates where the operator, drive chain, mounting position, safety devices, and electrical service all need to be matched as a system. This is not a small residential gate opener; it is a commercial or industrial style operator designed for properties that see frequent vehicle traffic and need a stronger chassis, serviceable drive components, and controller features that a technician can set up in the field.
This model is used to pull a properly installed rolling or V-track slide gate using #50 roller chain. The operator should be selected by the actual gate weight, gate opening width, duty requirement, voltage, phase, and site conditions. A gate that drags, binds, has exposed rollers, or is oversized for the operator can shorten the life of the motor, chain, controller, and clutch or drive components. When replacing an older Linear, OSCO, or Linear Pro Access slide gate operator, match the exact model number and electrical configuration before ordering, especially on three-phase units and high-voltage 460V installations.
The GSLG-A family is commonly installed at commercial driveways, apartment and condominium entrances, industrial yards, storage facilities, gated communities, public works sites, and private commercial entrances. It may be paired with compatible access control devices, vehicle detectors, monitored photo eyes, monitored gate edges, loop systems, keypads, card readers, telephone entry systems, and other low-voltage control accessories when the complete system is designed and wired correctly. Safety devices must not be bypassed or left disconnected.

Compatible With
The GSLG-A-243 should be matched by exact model number, horsepower, voltage, phase, gate rating, and operator family. The following applications and related models are listed to help identify the correct product family, not to suggest that every model is interchangeable.
- Select Linear Pro Access / OSCO GSLG-A slide gate operator applications requiring 1/2 HP, 460V three-phase power
- Vehicular slide gates up to 1100 lbs and 45 ft when the gate rolls freely and the installation is within the operator rating
- Commercial and industrial sliding gates using properly installed chain-drive hardware, covered rollers, and compliant gate construction
- Post-mount installations as standard and pad-mount installations when the proper optional mounting hardware and site layout are used
- Access control and reversing-device layouts using compatible low-voltage accessories, monitored entrapment protection, and properly installed vehicle loops or detectors
- Related GSLG-A model family for comparison: GSLG-A-211, GSLG-A-221, GSLG-A-283, GSLG-A-223, GSLG-A-243, GSLG-A-411, GSLG-A-421, GSLG-A-483, GSLG-A-423, GSLG-A-443, GSLG-A-111, GSLG-A-121, GSLG-A-183, GSLG-A-123, GSLG-A-143
- Use the exact model, HP, voltage, and phase when replacing an existing operator; model family similarity does not make different electrical versions interchangeable

Technician Note
Before replacing a complete slide gate operator, inspect the gate itself. The gate should roll freely by hand, stay level through the full travel, have properly covered rollers, and not drag on the track. A weak operator is often blamed when the real issue is a binding gate, worn rollers, incorrect chain tension, damaged gate hardware, or missing safety devices.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the full model number on the operator nameplate.
- Match horsepower, voltage, and phase exactly.
- Measure the clear gate opening and confirm the actual gate weight.
- Confirm post-mount or pad-mount installation requirements.
- Review monitored photo eye, gate edge, loop detector, and access control requirements.
- Check whether local code or site conditions require a licensed electrician or gate technician.
Professional Advisory
This is a commercial vehicular gate operator. Line-voltage wiring, three-phase power checks, controller setup, and monitored entrapment protection should be handled by qualified personnel. Do not bypass monitored safety devices, warning devices, or reset controls to force an operator to run.
Important Ordering Warnings
- Same-series Linear and OSCO slide gate operators are not automatically interchangeable.
- Single-phase and three-phase models must not be mixed.
- A 115V, 230V, and 460V operator require different electrical service.
- Horsepower changes can affect drive performance, branch circuit requirements, and parts compatibility.
- Gate length and gate weight ratings assume a properly installed, free-rolling vehicular slide gate.
Product Questions and Answers
What is the Linear Pro Access GSLG-A-243 used for?
The GSLG-A-243 is used to automate properly installed vehicular slide gates in commercial or industrial applications. This configuration is rated for 1/2 HP, 460V three-phase service, gates up to 1100 lbs, and gates up to 45 ft.
Can I replace another GSLG-A operator with the GSLG-A-243?
Only when the model rating, horsepower, voltage, phase, gate size, mounting style, and safety-device requirements match the job. Other GSLG-A models may look similar but can use different electrical configurations and gate ratings.
Does the GSLG-A-243 include the same compatibility as every GSLG-A model?
No. It belongs to the GSLG-A family, but the exact model number matters. Match the 1/2 HP, 460V, three-phase, and operator parts diagram before assuming parts or complete operators are interchangeable.
What should be checked before ordering the GSLG-A-243?
Check the existing operator model number, input voltage, phase, gate weight, clear opening width, drive chain style, mounting location, safety device layout, and local code requirements before ordering.
Who should install or wire the GSLG-A-243?
A qualified gate technician or licensed electrician should handle installation, line-voltage wiring, monitored safety devices, and final force or timer setup. Safety devices should not be bypassed.
