Linear Pro Access HSLG Series - Slide Gate Opener 460V Three Phase 1/2 HP 35ft Max Gate Length 1000 lbs Commercial or Industrial Slide Gate Operator
The Linear HSLG-243 1/2 HP Slide Gate Operator, 460V Three Phase is part of the Linear Pro Access HSLG commercial slide gate operator family. This model is intended for vehicular slide gate applications where a 1/2 HP operator is appropriate and the available site power matches the operator nameplate. It is commonly chosen for commercial entrances, industrial yards, controlled-access driveways, warehouse gates, equipment areas, and secured properties where a slide gate needs dependable daily operation.
The HSLG Series is a heavier-duty slide gate operator line with multiple horsepower, voltage, and phase combinations. The HSLG-243 version should be selected only when the power supply, phase, gate length, gate weight, and usage level match the installation. A similar-looking HSLG model with a different suffix may be wired for a different voltage or phase, so the suffix is not just a catalog detail. Matching the exact model matters for safe operation, proper motor performance, code compliance, and long-term reliability.
This operator is commonly integrated with access-control and safety equipment such as monitored photo eyes, safety edges, loop detectors, radio receivers, keypads, telephone entry systems, card readers, and vehicle exit devices. The gate itself must roll smoothly before the operator is installed or replaced. A hard-moving gate, worn rollers, damaged track, poor alignment, missing roller guards, or an undersized safety system can cause nuisance reversals, operator strain, and unsafe movement.
Compatible With
This is a complete HSLG Series slide gate operator, not a small universal replacement part. Compatibility is based on the whole gate system, electrical service, and control/accessory requirements.

Technician Note
Do not select an HSLG operator by gate size alone. The suffix on the model number identifies important electrical details. Confirm the operator nameplate, incoming power, disconnect, branch circuit, phase, gate travel, safety devices, loop layout, and accessory wiring before replacement. If the existing operator failed because the gate is dragging or binding, correcting the gate hardware comes first.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the exact model number is HSLG-243.
- Match the voltage and phase to the jobsite power.
- Confirm the gate is within the rated length and weight for this model.
- Inspect rollers, track, chain, stops, posts, and gate alignment.
- Confirm required monitored photo eyes, safety edges, and other entrapment protection are present and compatible.
- Verify whether the site needs receiver, keypad, telephone entry, loop detector, card reader, or exit-device integration.
Professional Advisory
Commercial slide gate operators involve moving gate hazards, entrapment protection, and line-voltage electrical work. Installation, high-voltage wiring, and troubleshooting should be handled by a qualified gate technician or licensed electrical professional where required. Do not bypass safety devices to force the gate to run.
Product Q&A
What is the main difference between HSLG-243 and other HSLG models?
HSLG-243 is the 1/2 HP HSLG slide gate operator version built for 460 VAC three phase. Other HSLG models may use different horsepower, voltage, or phase, so the model number should be matched to the site power and gate requirements.
What gate size is HSLG-243 commonly used for?
HSLG-243 is commonly listed for vehicular slide gates up to 35 ft. long and 1000 lb. Actual performance depends on gate condition, rollers, track, slope, wind load, and proper installation.
Can HSLG-243 replace a different HSLG operator?
It may replace another HSLG operator only when horsepower, voltage, phase, control requirements, safety-device requirements, and mounting/application details match. A 230V single-phase unit, 230V three-phase unit, and 460V three-phase unit are not interchangeable.
What accessories are commonly used with HSLG-243?
HSLG operators are commonly paired with monitored photo eyes or safety edges, loop detectors, radio receivers, transmitters, keypads, telephone entry systems, card readers, and exit devices that match the control setup.
Does HSLG-243 require safety devices?
Yes. Vehicular gate operators must be installed with the required entrapment protection for the site. Do not bypass monitored safety devices or run the operator on an unsafe gate.
