MMTC 3BFLX Push Exterior Three Button With Lockout Flush Mount Control Station
The MMTC 3BFLX Exterior 3-Button Flush Mount Control Station With Lockout is a exterior three button flush mount control station with lockout built for exterior recessed gate or door control where open-close-stop commands need keyed restriction at the station. In the field, these MMTC stations are used anywhere a technician needs a dedicated wall station or keyed command point for an automatic gate, commercial overhead door, rolling door, shutter, or similar controlled opening. The station is not the operator itself; it is the customer-facing control device that sends command signals to the operator control board or control panel.
Correct fitment matters because push-button stations can look similar while using different mounting boxes, enclosure ratings, button counts, STOP contact logic, lockout styles, and cylinder formats. A three-button OPEN-CLOSE-STOP station normally has separate conductors for each function, and many commercial operators expect the STOP button to be wired as a normally closed circuit. Replacing a station with the wrong contact arrangement can cause the operator to ignore commands, hold the stop circuit open, or fail to run. For lockout models, the key switch must also be matched to how the original station disabled or enabled the control circuit.
This part is commonly ordered when an existing MMTC station is broken, weathered, missing its proper enclosure, has damaged buttons, or needs to match a facility standard for interior, exterior, flush-mount, surface-mount, or keyed-access control. Always compare the original MMTC part number, the station layout, the wiring diagram, and the physical mounting before replacing it.
Compatible With
This MMTC control station may be used with select commercial door, gate, and access-control systems when the equipment is designed for the same button functions and dry-contact control logic. Compatibility depends on the operator wiring diagram, not only the brand name.
- Exterior commercial door and gate control locations using OPEN-CLOSE-STOP push-button wiring
- recessed gate operator command stations where keyed lockout is needed to prevent unauthorized operation
- low-voltage operator terminals accepting dry-contact open, close, and stop commands
- replacement for matching MMTC 3BFLX stations with the same exterior flush-mount footprint
- applications where the lockout is wired to disable the control station per the operator schematic
- LiftMaster/Chamberlain commercial door controls when the terminal strip calls for matching dry-contact wall station inputs
- Linear/OSCO/Nortek, Genie, Overhead Door, Raynor, Manaras, Marantec, and similar commercial operator controls when the wiring diagram matches
- DoorKing, FAAC, HySecurity, Viking, Linear, All-O-Matic, Ramset, and similar gate operators when low-voltage command terminals match the station contact logic

Technician Note
Do not choose this station by housing appearance alone. Match the existing part number, contact arrangement, STOP circuit logic, enclosure rating, mounting depth, conduit entry, and lockout or cylinder type. If the operator uses monitored safety devices or a specific control-board input sequence, keep those requirements intact.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the MMTC part number on the existing station or project submittal.
- Match interior versus exterior use and flush-mount versus surface-mount construction.
- Confirm the number of buttons and the exact control functions required.
- Verify normally open and normally closed contact requirements, especially the STOP circuit.
- For lockout models, verify standard, Best/equivalent, or mortise cylinder requirements.
- Compare faceplate, back-box, and enclosure dimensions before replacing an installed station.
- Have a qualified technician handle unfamiliar wiring, line-voltage circuits, or unsafe door/gate movement.
Professional Advisory
A control station should never be used to bypass a required safety device, stop circuit, photo eye, sensing edge, or entrapment-protection input. If the door or gate moves unexpectedly, will not stop, or has damaged wiring, shut the system down and have it inspected by a qualified gate or commercial door technician.
Product Questions & Answers
What is the MMTC 3BFLX used for?
The MMTC 3BFLX is used as a exterior three button flush mount control station with lockout for exterior recessed gate or door control where open-close-stop commands need keyed restriction at the station. It provides open, close, stop with keyed lockout control functions when connected to a compatible operator or control panel.
Is the MMTC 3BFLX a universal control station?
It is broadly usable with many commercial door and gate controls that accept matching dry-contact inputs, but it is not selected by brand alone. The contact logic, button functions, enclosure style, dimensions, and wiring diagram must match the equipment.
Does the MMTC 3BFLX include a lockout?
Keyed lockout/on-off function. If the control station uses a cylinder or keyed lockout, match the cylinder format and the way the lockout is wired into the operator control circuit.
Can this control station be used outdoors?
This item is listed for Exterior application; verify exposure, enclosure rating, and mounting location. Interior NEMA 1 stations should not be installed in wet or exposed locations. Exterior stations still need proper mounting, conduit entry, sealing, and code-compliant wiring.
What should be checked before replacing an MMTC 3BFLX?
Check the part number on the existing station, button count, faceplate or box dimensions, contact type, STOP circuit logic, lockout/cylinder style, and the operator wiring diagram. A qualified technician should handle unsafe or line-voltage wiring.
