The Sentry 300 Solar Charged Automatic Gate Opener Double Gate Fully Automated Kit contains the first high quality commercial grade Do it Yourself dual gate opener. The universal mounting brackets will allow for push to open or pull to open installation easily bolt on to most existing gates. The linear actuator provides 400 lbs of thrust and has a compression rating of 1000 lbs. Open or close time is typically 16 seconds and will not dramatically vary with gate weight. The Single Gate Basic System Kit includes all mounting hardware, two 2 button transmitters, battery charge controller, solar panel kit for solar battery charging, AC transformer for optional AC battery charging, charge cable extension kit, installation DVD, full color installation/owner's manual, control box with preinstalled components, and linear actuator. Recommended battery is a sealed lead acid, group U1 battery not included in kit. Solar charging eliminates the need for AC power at the gate saving money and installation time. The Photo Eye is a secondary safety device. It produces a beam between the 2 units. When the beam is broken it will keep the gate from closing. It requires wires to be connected to both units (20 gauge) for operation. Typically a swing gate needs two sets of photo eyes for the best area protection. One set of photo eyes pointing across the drive on the outside of the hinge post (A). The second set mounted across the drive at the point where the gate is fully opened (B). The photo eye must be installed where the gate does not break the beam. |

The driveway exit sensor is a magnetic device that installs below ground beside the drive. A magnetic field is established which when interrupted by a metal object will send a signal to open the gate. This sensor is supplied with a 50 foot cable and is typically installed inside the property beside the drive to automatically open the gate when a car passes. If more than 50 foot of cable is desired do not attempt to add cable this will only create problems. This type of sensor is not a safety device. |
