Florida Sales Tax 

Gate Openers Unlimited, Corp. operates out of our fulfillment center in Hialeah Gardens, Florida. In accordance with state law, we are required to collect sales tax on all orders shipped to an address within the state of Florida, as well as on all orders picked up locally at our warehouse facility.

• All orders delivered to a Florida address or picked up locally will be assessed a standard 7.00% sales tax.

• This tax is calculated based on the total value of the merchandise.

Out-of-State Shipments 

For orders shipped to destinations outside the state of Florida, Gate Openers Unlimited does not automatically collect sales tax at checkout. However, you may be responsible for paying use tax directly to your state's tax authority depending on your local laws. It is the purchaser's responsibility to understand and comply with their state's individual use tax regulations.

(Note: If economic nexus thresholds are met in specific states outside of Florida, applicable state and local sales taxes will automatically be calculated and added to your total during the checkout process).

Tax-Exempt Purchases & Resale Certificates 

We proudly supply professional gate automation contractors, installers, and property management companies. If you are purchasing hardware for resale or are a tax-exempt organization, we can remove the sales tax from your account.

To set up a tax-exempt account, please follow these steps:

1. Create a standard customer account on our website.

2. Before placing your first order, email a clear, signed copy of your valid Florida Annual Resale Certificate for Sales Tax (or your state's equivalent tax-exempt documentation) to [email protected].

3. Please include the email address associated with your store account.

4. Our team will verify the documentation and manually update your account to "Tax-Exempt" status.

Please note that tax-exempt status must be approved before an order is placed. We cannot retroactively refund sales tax on completed transactions if the resale certificate was not on file at the time of purchase.
