EMX LRS-C1 Loop Replacement System Controller Module
The EMX LRS-C1 is the controller module for the EMX Loop Replacement System. In an LRS installation, the sensor does the vehicle detection work and the controller interprets that signal, provides status indication, and sends the proper relay output to the gate, door, barrier, or access-control equipment. This part is useful when servicing an existing LRS installation where the flat pack or direct burial sensor may still be in place but the logic module is damaged, missing, or suspected during troubleshooting. It is not a conventional plug-in loop detector and it is not the pavement sensor itself. The LRS-C1 should be matched to the existing EMX LRS sensor, site wiring, power supply, and operator input before replacement.
Compatible With
- EMX LRS-FP flat pack sensors with 50 ft or 100 ft lead wire
- EMX LRS-DB direct burial sensors with 50 ft or 100 ft lead wire
- Existing EMX LRS vehicle detector installations using an LRS-C1 controller module
- EMX Loop Replacement System LRS controller installations
- Gate operators, parking barriers, commercial doors, loading docks, car washes, drive-thru lanes, and vehicle counting applications using an LRS sensor
- New or retrofit vehicle detection sites where saw-cut loops are difficult, damaged, or not practical
- Applications requiring vehicle presence detection with a compact magnetic-field sensor and logic interface
- Select access-control systems using 12-30 VDC or 24 VAC power and relay output wiring

Technician Note
When troubleshooting, separate controller faults from sensor faults. A cut lead wire, failed sensor, wrong power source, or miswired relay input can look like a bad controller.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the existing system is EMX LRS, not a standard inductive loop detector.
- Verify the connected sensor is an LRS flat pack or direct burial sensor.
- Check supply voltage before replacing the controller.
- Match relay output wiring to the operator input being used.
- Inspect the sensor cable for physical damage before replacing only the module.
Professional Advisory
Vehicle detector wiring should follow the gate, door, or barrier operator manual. For high-voltage controls, damaged pavement cuts, or unsafe gate movement, use a qualified access-control technician.
Product Q&A
Is LRS-C1 the sensor or the controller?
LRS-C1 is the controller or logic interface for the EMX LRS system. It is not the flat pack or direct burial sensor.
How many sensors can the LRS-C1 work with?
The LRS controller is used with LRS sensor inputs in EMX Loop Replacement System applications. Confirm the required sensor count and wiring from the system manual.
What power does the LRS-C1 use?
The LRS controller is commonly specified for 12-30 VDC and 24 VAC power.
What output does the LRS-C1 provide?
The LRS controller provides relay outputs for connection to compatible gate, door, barrier, or access-control inputs.
Can this controller fix a failed sensor?
Only if the controller is the failed part. If the sensor, lead wire, pavement installation, or operator input is the problem, replacing only the controller may not correct the issue.
