The published capacity is up to 16 feet and 650 pounds per gate leaf. The gate must also be properly constructed, supported, balanced, and able to swing freely throughout its complete travel.
Solid wood, privacy-panel, sheet-metal, and other solid-surface gates create significant wind resistance. The manufacturer does not recommend this operator family for solid gates because wind loading can cause obstruction faults, stopping, reversal, blown fuses, accelerated wear, or structural damage.
Gate length and weight ratings do not override wind-load limitations, poor hinge condition, weak posts, incorrect mounting geometry, or excessive gate resistance.
