AES AC/DC-Converter, AC/DC Converter - 110v AC > 24v DC
The AES AC/DC-Converter is a power conversion component used to convert 110V AC input power to 24V DC output power for select AES low-voltage applications. It is commonly associated with AES e-Loop and related access control equipment where a 24V DC supply is required from a 110V AC source.
This converter is intended for installations where the connected AES device is designed to operate from 24V DC and the site power source is 110V AC. It helps provide the correct low-voltage DC supply for compatible equipment, but it does not replace the connected control device, detector, receiver, transceiver, keypad, or gate operator.
The AC/DC-Converter should be ordered by exact AES part number, input voltage, output voltage, current requirement, and compatible device. Do not choose this part only because the voltage appears close. Output type, current rating, terminal style, enclosure, and equipment compatibility must all be verified before installation.
What This Converter Does
The AES AC/DC-Converter changes 110V AC power into 24V DC power for compatible AES equipment. In the correct application, the converter supplies low-voltage DC power to the connected AES device so the rest of the access control or e-Loop system can operate as designed.
This converter does not control a gate or door by itself. Gate or door operation still depends on the connected AES device, receiver or transceiver, relay wiring, gate operator input, safety devices, programming, and proper low-voltage wiring.
Compatible With
Use the AES AC/DC-Converter only where the AES documentation, original parts list, product label, supplier cross-reference, or installed equipment confirms this converter is required. Compatibility depends on the connected device, input power, output voltage, output current, wiring method, and enclosure requirements.
- Select AES e-Loop related applications where AC/DC-Converter or ACDC-CONVERTER is listed as the required power conversion component
- Select AES low-voltage equipment requiring 24V DC output from a 110V AC input source
- Applications where the original converter is marked, listed, or cross-referenced as AC/DC-Converter
- Applications where the installed device documentation confirms 24V DC power is required
- Repairs where the converter has been confirmed as the failed component and the connected AES device is still serviceable
- Installations where the output current rating, wiring style, mounting location, and electrical protection match the system requirements
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not assume the AES AC/DC-Converter fits every AES product or every 24V DC application. The connected device must be designed for 24V DC power, and the converter must provide the proper output current for the load.
One current listing identifies this converter for EL00P, while another lists it more generally as an E-Loop AC/DC Converter. Because the public wording is limited, verify the installed AES model, wiring diagram, part number, and package label before publishing broad e-Loop compatibility claims.

Technician Note
When troubleshooting an AES device that will not power up, the converter is only one possible cause. Check the incoming 110V AC feed, fuse or protection device, low-voltage output, polarity, wiring, terminals, water intrusion, damaged insulation, and the connected device load before replacing the converter.
If the converter output drops under load, the connected device may be drawing too much current, the wiring may be shorted, or the converter may be undersized or failing. Do not keep replacing converters without checking the load side and confirming the output current requirement.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- The required part number is AC/DC-Converter.
- The supplier SKU or package label does not instead show ACDC-CONVERTER or another power supply part number.
- The installed AES device requires 24V DC, not 24V AC, 12V DC, PoE, battery power, or another voltage.
- The available input power is 110V AC and is suitable for the converter.
- The converter output current rating is sufficient for the connected load.
- The terminal, wire lead, plug, or connector style matches the installation.
- The converter is not being confused with PSU-2AMP-24V-US, PSU-12V-US, IL-POE-PSU-US, or a generic 24V supply.
- The problem is not caused by a shorted load, damaged wiring, water intrusion, blown fuse, failed receiver, or incorrect device programming.
- The package contents are confirmed, especially whether any wiring, mounting hardware, enclosure, instructions, or adapters are included.
Installation and Service Notes
- Disconnect power before servicing or replacing the converter.
- Follow AES instructions and local electrical code requirements for the installed equipment.
- Confirm input and output terminals before energizing the converter.
- Do not connect 110V AC to a 24V DC device input.
- Observe DC polarity where the connected device requires polarity-sensitive wiring.
- Protect the converter from water intrusion, exposed conductors, vibration, and damaged insulation.
- Use the correct fuse, disconnect, enclosure, and wire size as required by the installation.
- After replacement, test 24V DC output, connected device operation, relay response, and normal gate or access control operation.
- Do not bypass monitored gate safety inputs, photo eyes, safety edges, fire access equipment, access permissions, fuses, or required entrapment protection during testing.
Professional Advisory
A qualified gate, access control, low-voltage, or electrical technician should install or service this converter when 110V AC wiring is involved, the output load is unknown, the enclosure is damaged, water intrusion is present, or the connected system controls a gate operator, magnetic lock, electric strike, fire access system, or monitored safety circuit. Do not bypass power protection, safety devices, or access control protections to make the system operate.
Product Questions & Answers
What is the AES AC/DC-Converter used for?
The AES AC/DC-Converter is used to convert 110V AC input power to 24V DC output power for select AES low-voltage and e-Loop related applications.
Does the AES AC/DC-Converter include the e-Loop or receiver?
No. The AC/DC-Converter is the power conversion component only. It does not include an e-Loop detector, receiver, transceiver, keypad, intercom, gate operator, or complete access control system.
Is AC/DC-Converter the same as ACDC-CONVERTER?
ACDC-CONVERTER appears as a related SKU format in some listings for the E-Loop AC/DC Converter. Verify the physical package label and supplier SKU before ordering or publishing the final part number.
Is the output 24V AC or 24V DC?
The product description identifies the converter as 110V AC to 24V DC. Do not substitute a 24V AC transformer unless the connected AES device documentation specifically allows 24V AC input.
Will this converter fit every AES e-Loop product?
No. It should only be used where the AES documentation, installed device label, or parts list confirms this converter is required. Public listings reference e-Loop use, but broad fitment should be verified before ordering.
Can I use a generic 24V DC power supply instead?
Only if the generic supply matches the required voltage, current rating, connector or terminal style, safety requirements, enclosure needs, and AES equipment documentation. Do not substitute by voltage alone.
What should I check before ordering AES AC/DC-Converter?
Confirm the exact part number, 110V AC input, 24V DC output, output current rating, connected AES model, wiring style, mounting method, package contents, and whether the issue is actually caused by the converter.
