Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this chain supplied as an open length or as a continuous loop?
A: This chain is supplied as a pre-joined endless loop, meaning it is a continuous belt with no master link. It is installed by routing it around the drive sprocket and idler sprocket during assembly, which requires partial disassembly of the operator head.
Q: Is this chain interchangeable with Genie part 112676.0109.S?
A: No. Part number 086565.1022.S is a 56-pitch loop chain. Part number 112676.0109.S is a 109-pitch linear (open-end) chain. They differ in pitch count, overall length, and configuration and are not interchangeable.
Q: What are the key dimensional specifications of ANSI No. 25 roller chain?
A: ANSI No. 25 roller chain has a 0.250 inch pitch, a 0.130 inch roller diameter, and a 0.125 inch roller width. These are standard dimensions defined by the American National Standards Institute for No. 25 single-strand roller chain.
Q: What installation steps are specific to a loop configuration chain?
A: Because the chain is an endless loop, the drive sprocket and idler sprocket must be partially disassembled or the operator head opened to thread the new chain onto both sprockets before reassembling. Consult the specific Genie operator service manual for the correct procedure.
Q: What does the .S suffix in the part number indicate?
A: The suffix .S typically denotes a service or spare-parts designation within Genie's internal part numbering system, indicating this part is sold as a replacement/service component rather than as part of a factory assembly kit.
