Diablo Controls AVI-X-2 Transmitter Dual Code Hands-Free Automatic Vehicle
The AVI System has many different uses and applications including Emergency Vehicle Access, Mass Transit, Shuttle Buses, Private Homeowner Access, Trucking Companies, Manufacturing Facilities, Fork Lifts, Airport Access, RaiL Cars, and many other applications.
Depending on the type of application, the user can choose to have the AVI System "Hands Free" or manual.
The AVI system is configured and tested at the factory, providing a true "Plug & Play" environment. All codes are documented and saved at the factory to eliminate duplicate codes being used by existing customers. The AVI system has Multiple Code capability allowing for greater versatility and security.
The AVI Transmitter is potted in a thermal epoxy compound and is mounted to the underside of a fire apparatus, police car, bus, light-rail train, and many other vehicles. When the vehicle approaches a gated area, the code is received by a loop buried in the ground ahead of the gate or barrier.
The receiver is the "smarts" of the system. It receives the coded message coming from the transmitter. If the transmitted code matches the pre-programmed code stored in the receiver, a relay contact is closed and a red LED is illuminated indicating a valid code is being received. This signal is then passed on to a gate controller, which automatically opens the gate or performs some other security function.

The AVI-X is a dual code transmitter encased in rugged housing. It can transmit up to 19,683 different codes using the standard Motorola code format. Furthermore, it is compatible with existing systems.
There are two models available: the AVI-X-1 and the AVI-X-2.
The -1 model will constantly transmit its single code as long as power is applied to the unit.
The -2 model has an extra cable attachment to a switch normally mounted somewhere on the dashboard. This model will transmit its primary code continuously unless the switch is pressed. As long as the switched is pressed, the transmitter will transmit its secondary code. When the switch is released, the transmitter will revert back to its primary code.
The transmitter is typically attached to the under carriage of the desired vehicle and the two wires are hooked into the switched DC power source usually located some place on the dashboard.
The transmitter comes factory preset with the programmed code(s) installed. The code(s) are easily changed if necessary. However, for security reasons, this must be done by the factory. Please contact the factory for any programmed code changes.
