Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between 37953R.S and 37857R.S?
A: Based on available research, 37953R.S is the current or updated part number, while 37857R.S is listed as the legacy cross-reference. They appear to be the same tensioner assembly function, with 37953R.S likely being a revised version.
Q: Which Genie opener models does this tensioner assembly fit?
A: This tensioner assembly is confirmed compatible with the Genie IntelliG 1000, IntelliG 1200, and Model 3042 garage door openers. Verify your model number on the opener label before ordering.
A: The tensioner assembly maintains proper tension on the drive belt or chain, ensuring smooth and reliable operation of the garage door opener. A worn or failed tensioner can cause slipping, noise, or erratic door movement.
Q: How do I know if I need to replace the tensioner assembly?
A: If your Genie IntelliG opener is making unusual noise, the drive belt or chain appears loose or slapping, or the door movement is erratic or inconsistent, the tensioner assembly may need replacement.
Q: Is there any ambiguity about what this part actually is?
A: Caution is advised - one source described 37953R.S as a capacitor bracket, which conflicts with the product title listing it as a tensioner assembly. Confirm the correct part with Genie customer support or your parts distributor before purchasing if unsure.
