HySecurity MX3395-P, SHEAR PIN, WEDGE, ASSY
The HySecurity MX3395-P shear pin assembly is service hardware for the wedge breakaway area on select HySecurity wedge barrier operators. It is used where the wedge plate hardware is designed to release or shear under abnormal load instead of transferring the full force into more expensive drive, plate, or frame components.
This part should be treated as a specific wedge barrier service component, not as a general-purpose bolt. Correct hardness, fit, washer stack, nut style, and placement matter because the part works as part of the barrier protection system. If the wedge has been hit, the technician should inspect the strap, pivot guard, spring tube, rod end, target sensor, and surrounding plate hardware before simply replacing the shear hardware.
Common replacement reasons include missing shear hardware, a sheared or distorted bolt after impact, incorrect hardware installed in the wedge plate, or a wedge barrier that will not return to normal service after the breakaway area has been repaired.
Compatible With
Use for the exact HySecurity wedge barrier configuration shown in the operator parts diagram. Public parts references commonly associate the base MX3395 shear bolt assembly with WedgeSmart DC, while the -P suffix should be confirmed against the current HySecurity parts listing.
- Select HySecurity WedgeSmart DC wedge barrier operators when the parts diagram calls for MX3395 or MX3395-P
- Wedge plate breakaway hardware locations using the HySecurity shear bolt / shear pin assembly
- Commonly associated WedgeSmart DC chassis, drive, and electrical parts diagrams
- Not a universal shear bolt for other wedge barrier brands, StrongArm crash arms, or generic fabricated barriers
- Verify if the ordered item is MX3395, MX3395-P, or another suffix before replacing impact hardware

Technician Note
Do not replace this part repeatedly without finding the cause of the shear event. A bent wedge plate, misaligned strap, damaged pivot guard, or obstructed barrier can shear hardware again and create an unsafe barrier condition.
Before Ordering
- Confirm whether the operator parts diagram calls for MX3395-P or base MX3395
- Inspect the wedge plate, strap, rod end, spring tube, and pivot hardware after any vehicle impact
- Confirm the barrier model and serial number before ordering suffix-specific hardware
- Do not substitute hardware-store bolts for shear-rated barrier hardware
- Have a qualified HySecurity technician inspect the barrier if the wedge does not move freely after repair
Professional Advisory
Wedge barrier service involves heavy moving parts and safety-critical impact hardware. If the barrier has been struck or if multiple parts are bent, repairs should be handled by a qualified gate or barrier technician.
Questions & Answers
What is the HySecurity MX3395-P used for?
The MX3395-P is used as wedge shear hardware in select HySecurity wedge barrier assemblies where the parts diagram calls for this part number or a closely related MX3395 shear bolt reference.
Is MX3395-P the same as MX3395?
The base number MX3395 is commonly referenced as a WedgeSmart DC shear bolt assembly, but the -P suffix should be matched to the current parts diagram before treating it as the same replacement.
Should this be replaced after a wedge impact?
It may need replacement after an impact, but the wedge plate, straps, pivots, target sensor, and nearby hardware should also be inspected before the barrier is returned to service.
Can a standard bolt be used instead?
No. Wedge shear hardware should not be replaced with a generic bolt because the part is intended to work as part of the barrier breakaway and protection system.
What should I verify before ordering MX3395-P?
Verify the HySecurity model, serial number, parts diagram callout, and whether your unit requires MX3395-P, MX3395, or another current service kit.
