HySecurity MX4847, IDLER WHEEL, #40 CHAIN, ASSY
The HySecurity MX4847 idler wheel assembly is part of the SlideSmart HD #40 chain guide system. It helps keep the drive chain moving smoothly through the operator while reducing unnecessary drag and chain misalignment. In a commercial slide gate installation, the idler wheel can see constant load, vibration, dirt, and weather exposure. When the wheel, bearing, shaft, or mounting hardware wears, the gate may run louder, the chain may jump or scrape, and the drive system can wear faster. Current HySecurity SlideSmart HD parts diagrams list MX4847 as the idler wheel / #40 roller chain guide for HD15F, HD25, and HD30 models. Some older literature may reference related idler part numbers, so the operator serial number and parts diagram should be checked before ordering.
Compatible With
- HySecurity SlideSmart HD15F where the parts diagram lists MX4847
- HySecurity SlideSmart HD25 where the parts diagram lists MX4847
- HySecurity SlideSmart HD30 where the parts diagram lists MX4847
- SlideSmart HD #40 roller chain guide/idler wheel applications
- May be associated with operators manufactured after certain production updates; verify by serial number and installed hardware
- Not a direct replacement for MX4280 or other idler references unless HySecurity documentation confirms the changeover

Technician Note
When replacing the idler wheel, inspect the #40 chain, drive sprocket, chain tension, chain alignment, and gate rolling resistance. A new idler will wear quickly if the gate is binding or the chain is over-tightened.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Match the installed part number to MX4847 or a confirmed HySecurity parts diagram reference.
- Verify the operator model, generation, voltage, and controller family before ordering.
- Inspect related hardware, connectors, covers, seals, and mounting points for damage before reusing them.
- Do not substitute a similar-looking HySecurity part unless the parts diagram confirms the same application.
- Confirm the operator is a SlideSmart HD model and verify HD15F, HD25, or HD30 configuration.
Professional Advisory
Do not work on the chain drive with power applied. Sliding gate drive systems can move unexpectedly and create pinch or crush hazards.
Product Questions & Answers
What chain size is MX4847 used with?
MX4847 is listed for SlideSmart HD #40 roller chain guide/idler wheel applications.
Which SlideSmart HD models use MX4847?
HySecurity parts diagrams list MX4847 for SlideSmart HD15F, HD25, and HD30 models, but the exact operator diagram should still be verified.
Can MX4847 replace MX4280?
MX4280 appears as a related idler reference in some SlideSmart documentation. Treat it as related only until the HySecurity parts diagram confirms interchange.
What symptoms indicate a worn idler wheel?
Chain noise, rough travel, visible wheel wear, loose bearing movement, chain rubbing, or uneven chain tracking can indicate an idler problem.
Should I replace the chain at the same time?
Replace the chain only if it is stretched, damaged, corroded, or worn. At minimum, inspect chain tension and alignment when replacing the idler.
