Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the specifications of the 2200-975 V-belt?
A: The 2200-975 is a 4L-style cross-section cogged V-belt with a 29-inch nominal length. The 4L cross-section measures approximately 1/2 inch wide and 5/16 inch deep.
Q: What is the advantage of a cogged V-belt over a standard V-belt?
A: A cogged belt has notches cut into the inner surface, which reduce bending stress, improve flexibility around smaller pulleys, and increase gripping surface area compared to a standard wrapped belt.
Q: Which Linear operator configurations use the 2200-975 belt?
A: The 2200-975 belt is listed for use in the high-speed modification configuration of Linear gate operators. Consult your operator's installation or service guide to confirm the correct belt for your specific configuration.
Q: How do I check and maintain the 2200-975 V-belt?
A: Check belt tension per the Linear service manual - typically 1/2-inch deflection under moderate thumb pressure for gate operator V-belts. Inspect for cracking, fraying, glazing, or missing cogs and replace if any of these signs are present.
Q: Can I substitute an aftermarket belt for the 2200-975?
A: The 2200-975 corresponds to an industry-standard 4L290 belt designation. Aftermarket equivalents with the same 4L cross-section and 29-inch nominal length may be substituted, but OEM parts are recommended for guaranteed fit.
