The Linear 2400-422 is an OEM replacement u-nut (speed nut / clip nut) from the Linear 2400-series parts catalog. It measures 5/16-18 UNC thread, spring steel U-nut clip standard dimensions. Constructed from Spring steel. 5/16-18 UNC thread for engagement with standard 5/16 in screws. Spring steel clip design attaches to panel edge or slot without back-side access. One-sided installation speeds assembly of sheet metal enclosures. Compatible with Linear SWG series gate operators and Linear SG series gate operators among other Linear gate operator series.
A: It is a 5/16-18 spring steel U-nut (also called a speed nut or clip nut) that clips onto a panel edge or flange, providing a threaded engagement point for a 5/16-18 screw from one side only.
A: The U-nut clips onto a panel edge or into a slot, and the spring steel arms grip the panel while the embossed thread accepts the screw. No access to the back side of the panel is needed.
A: U-nuts are used in sheet metal enclosures and brackets within Linear gate operators where one side of the panel is inaccessible or where fast assembly is required.
A: Spring steel construction provides inherent locking action as the screw thread deforms the embossed nut thread slightly, resisting loosening.
A: Use Linear OEM part 2400-422 or an equivalent 5/16-18 spring steel U-nut clip nut with matching panel engagement dimensions.
