Marantec 167329 Battery Backup 100 with External Molded Bracket
The Marantec 167329 Battery Backup 100 is made for Synergy 200 Series installations that use the external molded battery holder. The battery backup allows a compatible opener to continue operating during a utility power failure for a limited number of cycles, provided the door is properly balanced and the battery is charged. This is not just a generic battery; the bracket, connector, and 24 volt backup arrangement need to match the operator platform. It is commonly selected for Synergy 260, Synergy 270, and Synergy 280 openers, especially when the existing battery has aged out or the holder is missing. Before ordering, check whether the opener is a Synergy 200 or Synergy 300 model because the newer 189945/104586 Synergy 300 battery backup is a different fitment group.

Technician Note
Match the part number, operator model, and product family before ordering. For safety-related or wiring-related parts, confirm the original installation and parts diagram instead of relying on appearance alone.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the Marantec part number printed on the old part or shown in the parts diagram.
- Match the opener model, product generation, and accessory type.
- Check frequency, wiring style, safety-device requirements, and included components where applicable.
- Review whether the old number has been superseded or is only a related search number.
- Use a qualified garage door technician for unsafe door movement, electrical diagnosis, or control-board wiring.
Important Ordering Warnings
- Do not assume Synergy 200 and Synergy 300 battery backups are interchangeable. Match the opener model and bracket style.
Professional Advisory
Garage door and gate products should be installed and serviced with all required safety devices in place. If wiring, safety sensor diagnosis, or opener troubleshooting is uncertain, have the system checked by a qualified technician.
Product Questions and Answers
Which openers commonly use Marantec 167329?
This battery backup is commonly used with Synergy 260, Synergy 270, and Synergy 280 openers in the Synergy 200 Collection.
Is 167329 the same as 189945?
No. Both are Marantec battery backup products, but 167329 is the external molded bracket style commonly tied to Synergy 200 models, while 189945 is for Synergy 300 models.
What does the external molded bracket do?
The molded bracket holds the battery backup in the correct position for opener models that do not use the Synergy 300 integrated battery compartment.
What are common replacement reasons?
Common reasons include no backup operation during a power outage, battery age, low backup capacity, missing holder, or a battery that no longer charges properly.
Does battery backup fix a poorly balanced door?
No. A weak or unbalanced door can overload the opener and reduce battery backup performance. Door balance should be checked before relying on backup operation.
