Marantec 8030279 Replacement Rail Belt with Tab for 8 ft Door
Marantec 8030279 is the replacement belt assembly used on select Marantec belt-drive garage door opener rail systems for an 8 ft high sectional door. The belt transfers motion from the opener head through the rail and trolley, while the attached travel limit tab works with the reference switch so the operator can track door position. When the belt is stretched, missing teeth, stripped, or broken, the opener may run without moving the door, stop out of position, or lose travel reference. Correct rail length matters because Marantec uses different belt lengths for different door heights and rail generations. This part should be matched to the original belt, the rail style, and the opener parts diagram rather than ordered by opener model alone.
Common Replacement Reasons
- Opener runs but the door does not move
- Belt is frayed, stretched, stripped, or broken
- Travel limits are inconsistent because the tab is damaged or missing
- Trolley moves unevenly or skips under load
Compatible With
- Marantec belt-drive garage door openers using the matching 8 ft or 10 ft rail length

- Marantec M4500e, M4700e, and M4900e rail systems when the belt length matches

Technician Note
On Marantec belt-drive systems, the tab is not just a plastic marker. It is part of the travel reference setup. If the old belt failed because the door was heavy, out of balance, or binding, replacing the belt alone may not correct the root problem.
Important Ordering Warnings
- Not interchangeable with the 10 ft 8030280 belt
- Not for every Marantec rail generation; verify the original rail and belt length
- A broken belt can point to a door balance or rail hardware problem
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the door height is 8 ft, not 7 ft or 10 ft
- Measure the old belt if possible and compare it to the 250 inch reference
- Verify the opener uses a compatible Marantec belt rail
- Check the trolley, belt connector, rail, and reference switch while the rail is apart
- Do not substitute the 10 ft 8030280 belt unless the rail length calls for it
Professional Advisory
Garage door opener rail service should be done with the opener unplugged and the door properly supported. If the door is heavy, out of balance, or unsafe to move by hand, have a qualified garage door technician correct the door condition before installing a new belt.
Product Questions and Answers
Is Marantec 8030279 for an 8 ft garage door?
Yes. Marantec 8030279 is the replacement rail belt with attached travel limit tab commonly used on compatible Marantec belt-drive rail systems for an 8 ft door. The existing belt length should be checked before ordering.
What is the approximate belt length for 8030279?
The 8030279 belt is commonly listed at about 250 inches overall. Measure the old belt if it is still intact, because rail length is the best way to separate the 8 ft and 10 ft versions.
Does the belt include the travel limit tab?
Yes. This belt assembly includes the travel limit tab attached to the belt. That tab is important because it works with the opener reference switch so the operator can identify travel position.
Will this belt fit every Marantec Synergy opener?
No. It may be used with select Synergy models only when the operator has the compatible belt rail and 8 ft door height. Match the belt length and rail style before ordering.
What should I inspect while replacing the belt?
Check the belt connector, trolley, rail, reference switch, and door balance. A stretched or stripped belt can be a symptom of a binding door or worn rail hardware.
