AES EL00C-RAD Commercial Surface eLoop Presence Mode Radar Detector Loop Only Technical Details
The AES EL00C-RAD Commercial Surface eLoop Presence Mode Radar Vehicle Detector - Loop Only is an AES Global eLoop vehicle detection product for commercial surface-mount presence mode vehicle detection with radar confirmation. It is designed for surface mounting on a suitable entry, exit, or access lane with concrete fixing hardware and is commonly selected when a traditional saw-cut inductive loop is not practical or when a wireless detector is preferred for the site layout.
This is the Loop Only version. No eTrans transceiver is included with this loop-only version. Use it only where the correct compatible AES eLoop transceiver is already installed or ordered separately. Always match the eLoop sensor, transceiver, relay output, and gate operator input before ordering or replacing parts.
What This Part Does
The EL00C-RAD detects vehicles and communicates with compatible AES eLoop receiver-side equipment so the gate operator or access-control panel can receive the intended command. Depending on the model and setup, that command may be used for exit activation, presence logic, hold-open logic, or another approved vehicle-detection input.
- Designed for commercial gate, barrier, parking, and vehicle access lanes
- Uses dual magnetic field and radar vehicle detection
- Supports presence mode with radar applications when matched to the correct transceiver and operator input
- Uses encrypted wireless communication with compatible AES eTrans equipment
- Helps avoid saw-cut loop wiring when the site conditions and range are suitable
Compatible With
The EL00C-RAD may be used with select AES eLoop systems and gate operators where the mounting style, transceiver, relay output, and operator input match the application. Common fitment areas include:
- commercial gate operators and barrier controls that accept a compatible dry-contact command from an AES eLoop transceiver
- parking lots, controlled access lanes, commercial driveways, and vehicle entry or exit points
- AES eTrans50, eTrans100, or eTrans200 receiver-side equipment when matched to the kit version or ordered separately
- sites where surface mounting is acceptable and wireless range to the transceiver is practical
- gate operators that can accept the transceiver relay as a dry-contact style open, exit, hold, or auxiliary command when wired correctly
- applications where required photo eyes, safety edges, and entrapment protection remain installed and functional
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not select this detector only by product family or by the word eLoop. AES eLoop models differ by detection mode, mounting method, battery service, transceiver package, relay output, and traffic application. A loop-only sensor is not a complete working kit unless the correct compatible transceiver is already installed or ordered separately.
Presence mode with radar can help with gate hold-open or access-control logic, but it must not be treated as the only safety protection on an automatic gate. Required monitored photo eyes, safety edges, emergency access, and other entrapment protection still need to be installed and working.

- Other wireless vehicle sensors may not communicate with AES eLoop transceivers.
Not Intended For
- Replacing monitored photo eyes, safety edges, or other required entrapment protection devices
- Low-traffic residential installations where the EL00M mini exit-only unit would be more appropriate
- In-ground flush installations where an EL00IG-RAD style detector is required
- Post-mounted detection where an EL00PM-RAD style detector is required
- Gate operators without a suitable open, exit, presence, or control input for the selected relay function

Related Parts and Service Checks
- Confirm whether the detector is being used for free exit, presence, hold-open, or another access-control input.
- Confirm that a compatible AES eTrans transceiver is already installed or being ordered separately.
- Confirm the gate operator has the correct input for the transceiver relay output.
- Check wireless distance, line of sight, metal enclosures, masonry columns, and antenna position before installation.
- Confirm battery type and current battery condition before troubleshooting a weak or intermittent loop.
- Confirm that any required photo eyes, monitored edges, warning devices, emergency access, and UL 325 safety devices remain in service.
- Confirm the pavement surface is suitable for mounting hardware and vehicle load.
Technician Note
Before replacing an eLoop, check the whole signal path. A dead battery, poor calibration, weak antenna location, lost pairing, damaged transceiver, incorrect relay wiring, or wrong gate operator input can all look like a bad sensor. On commercial sites, also confirm the detector function before replacement because an exit detector, a presence detector, and a safety device do not serve the same job.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact part number is EL00C-RAD.
- Confirm the required detection function is presence mode with radar.
- Confirm the mounting method is surface mounted commercial loop.
- Confirm the correct transceiver package is Loop Only.
- Confirm relay output requirements at the gate operator or access-control panel.
- Confirm wireless range, antenna location, pavement or post conditions, and battery service access.
- Confirm required gate safety devices remain installed and operational.
Installation and Service Notes
Install the detector according to the current AES instructions for the exact model and kit version. The transceiver should be powered from an approved low-voltage source and wired only to the proper gate operator or access-control input. Keep relay wiring separated from unsafe high-voltage work and confirm the intended input function before testing.
Do not stand in the gate path while testing vehicle detection. Do not bypass monitored safety inputs, photo eyes, safety edges, emergency access, fire access, or gate operator safety circuits to make a detector appear to work. If the control wiring, input function, or safety behavior is unclear, use a qualified gate or access-control technician.
Professional Advisory
AES eLoop products are useful when installed in the correct location with the correct transceiver and relay output. They are not universal sensors. For commercial lanes, gated communities, parking areas, and South Florida access-control sites, confirm traffic direction, detection mode, vehicle type, mounting surface, wireless range, and future service access before final installation.
Product Questions & Answers
Is EL00C-RAD the correct AES eLoop for my gate?
It may be correct if your application matches presence mode with radar operation, the mounting style is surface mounted commercial loop, and your gate operator can accept the relay output from the compatible AES eTrans equipment. Confirm the operator input, wiring function, and transceiver requirement before ordering.
What is included with the EL00C-RAD version?
The EL00C-RAD version should be treated as the loop sensor only unless the current listing states otherwise. A compatible AES eTrans transceiver is normally required separately for the loop to communicate with the gate operator.
Can EL00C-RAD be used as a gate safety device?
No. AES eLoop products are vehicle detection and access-control devices and should not be used as the sole safety device. Keep required monitored photo eyes, safety edges, entrapment protection, warning devices, fire access, and emergency access equipment installed and working.
What is the difference between this model and another AES eLoop?
This EL00C-RAD model is the commercial surface-mount presence/radar style. It is not the same as the in-ground EL00IG-RAD, post-mount EL00PM-RAD, or domestic mini EL00M exit-only detector.
Which transceiver do I need for EL00C-RAD?
Loop-only versions require a compatible AES eTrans receiver-side device to provide the relay output to the gate operator. Choose the transceiver by relay count, device capacity, display/setup needs, range, and wiring requirements.
What should I check if the EL00C-RAD eLoop is not triggering the gate?
Check the battery, eLoop calibration, transceiver power, coding/pairing, relay wiring, operator input, antenna position, distance, and site interference. If the operator wiring or safety circuit is unclear, have a qualified gate or access-control technician inspect the system.
Can EL00C-RAD replace a wired loop detector?
It may replace a wired loop in select applications where wireless range, mounting location, relay function, and gate operator input are suitable. It is not a direct replacement for every saw-cut loop, plug-in detector, or safety loop setup.
