BAI BA-L85-WW-25 BAI-10 Vehicle Decal Compatibility and Ordering Details
The Barcode Automation BAI BA-L85-WW-25 is a white-on-white vehicle barcode credential for established BAI sites configured to use the BAI-10 format, also identified by the L85 designation. Each decal measures 2.5 x 3.7 inches and is rated for vehicle identification at speeds up to 25 mph when the reader position, decal location, approach angle, and entrance lane are properly configured.
BAI-10 is a legacy credential format intended mainly for replacement or expansion orders at properties that already use matching L85 decals. Each decal is made to order with the site's correct 3-digit facility code and a unique credential-number sequence.

Part Number Identification

- L85 identifies the BAI-10 barcode credential format.
- WW identifies the white-on-white color combination.
- 25 identifies the 2.5-inch-high legacy decal format.
White-on-White Decal Color
The WW suffix identifies Barcode Automation's white-on-white color combination. A property may use different approved decal colors to provide a less noticeable appearance on selected vehicles or to visually separate vehicle groups.
The decal color does not determine the facility code, access level, schedule, or gate permissions. Access rights are assigned through the unique credential number and the connected access control system.
BAI-10 Is a Legacy Format for Existing Sites
The BA-L85-**-25 series is intended mainly for properties that already use BAI-10 credentials. Do not select this decal for a new installation solely because its dimensions, color, or appearance resemble an existing credential.
Select BA-220 and BA-440 readers can be updated with Dual Decal Firmware that continues reading the property's original BAI-10 format while adding support for BC3 credentials. This may allow a property to transition gradually without immediately replacing every active L85 decal.
Similar Decals That Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
- BA-L85-BB-25 black-on-black BAI-10 decals
- BA-L85-BW-25 black-on-white BAI-10 decals
- BA-L85-BR-25 black-on-red BAI-10 decals
- BA-L85-BL-25 black-on-gold BAI-10 decals
- BA-L75-**-25 BAI-8 credentials using a 2-digit facility code
- BA-BC2-**-25 credentials using the separate BC2 barcode format
- BA-L65-**-23 CB-6 or L65 credentials
- BA-BC3-**-20 credentials using the newer 5-digit BC3 format
- BA-L85 credentials encoded with a different facility code or number sequence
BAI-10 and BC2 credentials both use 3-digit facility codes and measure approximately 2.5 x 3.7 inches, but they use different barcode formats. Do not substitute a BA-BC2 credential for a BA-L85 credential without confirming the property's exact format.
Facility-Code and Credential-Number Requirements
These decals are made to order for a specific property. The order must match the site's existing 3-digit facility code and use an approved sequence of unused credential numbers.
Incorrect, duplicate, or out-of-sequence numbers may conflict with active vehicle records or fail to operate as expected. Check previous decal orders, the access control database, or a current working credential before submitting the order.
50-Pack Ordering Information
This product includes 50 made-to-order BAI-10 vehicle barcode decals. Barcode Automation does not have a minimum decal quantity, but it charges a small-batch fee on orders containing fewer than 100 decals. Confirm the facility code, credential sequence, white-on-white color combination, quantity, and applicable fee before placing the order.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm that the property currently uses the BAI-10 or L85 format.
- Verify the installed reader model and programmed legacy format.
- Confirm the correct 3-digit facility code.
- Confirm the next available credential-number sequence.
- Verify that white on white is the required color combination.
- Make sure the 2.5 x 3.7-inch format matches the existing credentials.
- Confirm that the 25 mph rating meets the entrance requirements.
- Verify that the required package quantity is 50 decals.
- Confirm that the manufacturer small-batch fee has been included.
- Confirm how each credential will be entered into the access control database.
Installation and Programming Notes
Apply the decal to the side of the vehicle facing the reader and within the established scan area used at the property. The credential must remain visible to the reader and should not be blocked by a body panel, vehicle accessory, cargo, or another obstruction.
Do not cut, fold, laminate, photocopy, cover, or modify the barcode area. Record the unique credential number before installation and assign it to the correct vehicle in the access control database. The decal is manufactured to break apart during removal, so a replacement credential should be issued when the assigned vehicle changes.
Technician Note
When the exact site format is uncertain, compare the format, facility code, dimensions, color, and numbering from an existing working credential. A reader accepting a similarly sized BC2 or BAI-8 decal does not prove that it is configured for the BAI-10 format.
Product Questions and Answers
Is the BA-L85-WW-25 intended for new installations?
It is primarily a legacy credential for existing BAI-10 or L85 sites. Confirm the required format using property records, previous decal orders, or the access control provider before selecting it for a new installation.
Will the BA-L85-WW-25 work with every BA-220 or BA-440 reader?
No. The reader must be configured to recognize the property's BAI-10 format and facility code. Confirm compatibility using an existing working decal or the reader's configuration records.
What do L85, WW, and 25 mean in the part number?
L85 identifies the BAI-10 credential format, WW identifies the white-on-white color combination, and 25 identifies the 2.5-inch-high decal format.
Does the white-on-white color determine the vehicle's access level?
No. A property may use different colors to identify vehicle groups, but color does not control access permissions. Permissions are assigned through the credential number and access control database.
What is the maximum rated vehicle speed for this decal?
The BA-L85-WW-25 is rated for vehicle speeds up to 25 mph when the reader position, decal location, approach angle, and entrance lane are properly configured.
Can a BC2 decal replace a BA-L85 BAI-10 decal?
No automatic substitution should be made. BC2 and BAI-10 use different barcode formats even though both use 3-digit facility codes and similar decal dimensions.
Can a BA-L85-WW-25 decal be moved to another vehicle?
No. The decal is manufactured to break apart during removal and should remain assigned to its original authorized vehicle. Issue and program a replacement decal when the vehicle changes.
What information is needed when ordering this 50-pack?
Confirm the BAI-10 format, 3-digit facility code, unused credential-number sequence, white-on-white color combination, reader configuration, package quantity, entrance speed, and applicable small-batch fee.
