Elite AELD Plug-in Loop Detector Liftmaster Vehicle Gate Exit Safety Sensor
The LiftMaster Elite AELD is a plug-in vehicle loop detector designed for older Elite/LiftMaster gate operators that use the OmniControl board. It reads the signal from a properly installed in-ground loop and sends a vehicle presence signal to the gate operator so the board can respond according to the selected loop input.
This detector is commonly used on legacy Elite gate systems, especially pre-2016 SL3000UL slide gate operators, CSW200UL swing gate operators, and HCT overhead gate operators. It is important not to confuse the AELD with the newer LOOPDETLM plug-in detector used on many later LiftMaster gate operator platforms. The connector style, board application, and supported operators are different.
Vehicle detection problems are not always caused by the plug-in detector. Broken loop wire, moisture intrusion, pavement movement, poor splices, incorrect sensitivity, frequency interference, or a failed board input can all cause similar symptoms.
Compatible With
Designed for use with Elite/LiftMaster operators that use the OmniControl board. Commonly listed for pre-2016 SL3000UL slide gate operators, CSW200UL swing gate operators, and HCT overhead gate operators. May be used in exit, shadow, or interrupt loop applications when the operator board and loop input support that function. Verify the control board and operator generation before ordering.

Technician Note
Use AELD for the older OmniControl board platform. For newer LiftMaster operators, confirm whether the correct detector is LOOPDETLM instead.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the operator uses an OmniControl board.
- Verify the operator model and manufacture generation.
- Check whether the application requires exit, shadow, or interrupt loop input.
- Inspect loop wire and splices before replacing the detector.
- Do not bypass required safety devices or vehicle detection systems.
Important Ordering Warnings
- Not a direct substitute for LOOPDETLM on newer operators.
- A bad loop wire can look like a bad detector.
Professional Advisory
Gate loop detector diagnosis should be performed with the gate secured and all entrapment protection devices working. A qualified gate technician should inspect unsafe gate movement, damaged loops, or board-level faults.
Product Questions & Answers
What operators use the AELD loop detector?
The AELD is designed for LiftMaster Elite operators with the OmniControl board, especially pre-2016 SL3000UL, CSW200UL, and HCT operators.
Is AELD the same as LOOPDETLM?
No. AELD is for older OmniControl board applications. LOOPDETLM is the newer LiftMaster plug-in loop detector used on many newer gate operator platforms.
Can this detector be used as an exit, shadow, or interrupt loop?
The function depends on the loop input location and operator setup. It may be used in loop detector applications when the operator board and wiring support that function.
Does the AELD replace a hardwired external detector?
Not always. It plugs into compatible OmniControl boards. External detector replacements should be matched by wiring, voltage, loop function, and board input.
What should be checked if a gate does not respond to the loop?
Check loop wire condition, detector settings, loop resistance, board input status, and operator configuration. A damaged pavement loop or wiring fault can mimic a bad detector.
