GENIE 080837.0292.S, CHAIN,RLR #41 X 29P
Genie 080837.0292.S is a Genie OEM replacement ansi #41 roller chain - open-ended strand (ANSI #41 Open-Ended Roller Chain Strand - 29 Pitches). This variant has the following dimensions: Pitch: 0.500 in; Pitch count: 29P; Total length: 14.5 in (29 x 0.500 in); Roller dia: 0.306 in; Roller width: 0.306 in; Pin dia: 0.141 in; Plate height: 0.475 in. Construction: Carbon steel roller chain construction per ANSI #41 standard; standard finish (non-nickel-plated). For use with Genie commercial chain-drive door operators and Genie industrial door operators requiring ANSI #41 chain drive. Selecting the correct chain ANSI size, pitch count, and configuration (open-ended vs. loop) is critical for proper installation and operator function.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What ANSI chain size is the 080837.0292.S and how does it differ from #40 chain?
A: This chain is ANSI #41, which has a 0.500 in pitch. Do not confuse it with #40 chain - #41 is a lightweight variant of the #40 series with a narrower roller width of 0.306 in and is commonly used in Genie commercial door operator drive systems.
Q: What is the total length of this chain and is it a loop or open-ended strand?
A: The total length is 14.5 in, calculated as 29 pitches x 0.500 in pitch length. This is an open-ended strand, meaning it is not a closed loop and will require appropriate connecting links or master links for installation.
Q: How do I read the Genie 080837 part number to identify chain size and pitch count?
A: The 080837 series uses the last digit of the suffix to encode chain size: a suffix ending in 2 indicates ANSI #41, and a suffix ending in 4 indicates ANSI #50. The 0292 middle segment indicates 29 pitches, so 080837.0292.S is #41 x 29P.
Q: What are the tensile strength and weight specifications for ANSI #41 roller chain?
A: The tensile strength of ANSI #41 roller chain is approximately 2,320 to 2,700 lbf depending on manufacturer. Weight is approximately 0.25 lb/ft, making this 29-pitch, 14.5 in strand approximately 0.30 lb.
Q: How does the 080837.0292.S differ from the 080837.0272.S?
A: The 080837.0272.S is #41 x 27P at 13.5 in total length, while the 080837.0292.S is #41 x 29P at 14.5 in. The two extra pitches add 1.0 in of length. Always verify the required pitch count against your specific door operator model before ordering.
