Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What ANSI chain standard does this part conform to?
A: This part uses ANSI #25 chain, which has a 1/4" (0.250 in) pitch, a roller diameter of 0.130 in, and a roller width of 0.125 in. It is a lighter-duty chain than the ANSI #35 used in the Genie 109xxx and 110877 series.
Q: What does 'loop' or 'endless' mean for this chain?
A: This chain is supplied as an endless loop - also called a closed loop or pre-joined loop - with 92 pitches, giving a total assembled length of 23.00 in (1.92 ft). No master link installation is required.
Q: Does the .1031 suffix indicate the number of pitches?
A: The suffix .1031 is an internal Genie catalog designator and does NOT encode the pitch count. The pitch count of 92P is explicitly stated in the product title and must be used when selecting a replacement to ensure the correct loop length.
Q: What is the tensile strength of ANSI #25 chain?
A: ANSI #25 chain has a rated tensile strength of approximately 875 to 930 lbs. This is significantly lower than ANSI #35 chain, which is rated at approximately 2,320 lbs, so the two chain standards are not interchangeable.
Q: What material is this chain made from?
A: Carbon steel is the standard base material for ANSI #25 roller chain. This chain does not carry a nickel-plated designation, distinguishing it from any corrosion-resistant variants that may be available in other Genie series.
