Brake Release Spring for Genie GCL-MJ and GCL-MH Commercial Jackshaft/Hoist Operators. This brake release spring is an OEM service replacement part for Genie commercial door operators.
A: The brake release spring works in opposition to the brake engagement force. When the operator is energized, the brake solenoid acts against the spring pressure to release the brake, allowing the door to move during powered operation.
A: This spring is referenced in the Genie Jackshaft/Hoist GCL-MJ and MH operator manuals. Related parts include brake kits in the 111396 series and brake solenoid kits 110953 and 110954.
A: The brake release spring (110824.0001.S) is specifically for the brake RELEASE mechanism - it provides the resistive force that the solenoid must overcome to release the brake. It is not a brake engagement spring.
A: Confidence is low due to limited publicly available dimensional and specification data for this specific part number. Verify fitment against your operator serial number and consult the GCL-MJ or GCL-MH operator manual before ordering.
A: Cross-reference brake kits in the 111396 series and brake solenoid kits 110953 and 110954 to ensure all brake mechanism components are serviceable at the same time.
