Genie 110984.0001.S is the OEM replacement Output Shaft Kit for Genie SDMT side-mount trolley operator - direct drive configuration. This kit supplies all shaft, bearing, and hardware components needed to restore the drive train to factory specification. Constructed from Steel shaft with associated bearing and coupling components, the shaft delivers the torsional strength and wear resistance required in commercial door operator service. Installing an OEM-matched kit preserves alignment tolerances and load ratings specified for the Output Shaft.
A: In a direct-drive configuration the output shaft is coupled directly to the drive sprocket or lead screw without an intermediate reversing gear stage. This results in a specific shaft orientation and coupling geometry that differs from the indirect-drive variant.
A: No. The direct-drive kit (110984.0001.S) and indirect-drive kit (110986.0001.S) have different shaft configurations and coupling interfaces. Using the wrong kit will result in an improper fit.
A: Replace when the output shaft, bearings, or coupling hardware in a direct-drive SDMT operator show wear, damage, or excessive play that affects trolley travel reliability.
A: The kit includes the direct-drive output shaft, bearings, retaining collar or snap rings, and the coupling hardware specific to the direct-drive SDMT configuration.
A: Shut off and lock out power, access the SDMT output shaft assembly, remove the direct-drive shaft and associated hardware, install the replacement kit per the SDMT service manual for the direct-drive variant, and verify proper trolley travel before returning to service.
