The Genie 111342.0879.S is an ANSI #41 roller chain with 879P (16 ft) for use on Genie GCL-GT and RHX commercial trolley-style door operators. At a standard #41 pitch of 0.500 in per link, this chain delivers reliable power transmission in light-to-medium duty commercial door applications. It is a direct OEM replacement part for the Genie 111342.0879.S and is sold as individual chain length (each). Proper chain length selection is critical - verify the door height matches the pitch count before ordering. The 111342 series spans door heights from 10 ft (591P) through 20 ft (1071P).
A: The suffix .0879 denotes 879 pitches, which is the pre-cut loop length required to drive a 16-ft high commercial sectional door on operators such as the Genie GCL-GT and RHX. Shorter or longer doors require a different pitch-count variant.
A: This chain is #41 ANSI standard roller chain with a 0.500 in pitch. It is NOT #40 or #50 chain. Verify your operator manual specifies #41 chain before ordering, as #40 and #41 share the same pitch but differ in roller diameter and tensile strength.
A: Genie specifies this pre-sized loop for 16-ft door height applications on compatible commercial trolley-drive operators. Using an incorrectly sized chain loop on a different door height can cause slack, skip, or binding on the drive sprocket.
A: Yes. Periodic lubrication with a quality #41-rated chain lubricant is recommended to reduce wear and extend service life. Inspect the chain for stiff links, corrosion, or elongation (wear stretch) and replace if pitch elongation exceeds 1/8 in over 12 in of chain.
A: The .S suffix in Genie part numbers typically designates a service or replacement part packaged for the aftermarket channel, as opposed to an OEM-assembly part. The chain specification and dimensions are identical to the OEM-installed version.
