Genie 112649.0001.S FDO Clutch Kit
The Genie 112649.0001.S is a specialized clutch kit for select Genie FDO commercial operator applications. In a commercial door operator, the clutch assembly is part of the mechanical drive system and is used to transfer controlled drive force through the operator. A worn clutch can contribute to slipping, inconsistent door movement, noise, failure to lift under load, or adjustment issues, but similar symptoms can also come from door balance problems, chain/sprocket wear, brake issues, limit problems, or incorrect operator sizing. For that reason, this kit should be selected only after confirming the parts diagram and the actual condition of the drive system. FDO-specific parts are not automatically interchangeable with GCL, SX, HX, RSX, or other commercial operator components unless Genie documentation confirms the match.
Compatible With
- Select Genie FDO commercial door operator applications where the parts diagram calls for 112649.0001.S
- Commercial fire door / FDO-style operator service applications requiring the Genie clutch kit
- Use where the existing clutch assembly, shaft arrangement, and operator model match the Genie parts reference
- Not a universal clutch kit for all Genie commercial operators
- Do not assume compatibility with GCL-H, GCL-J, GCL-T, SX, HX, RSX, or other Genie commercial families without parts-diagram confirmation
- Verify horsepower, voltage/phase, drive setup, and serial/model information before ordering

Technician Note
Clutch problems should be diagnosed with the door and operator disconnected as appropriate. A door that is out of balance or binding can destroy a new clutch kit quickly.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the operator is an FDO application using 112649.0001.S
- Check the full model, horsepower, voltage, and phase information
- Inspect door balance, chain, sprockets, brake, and limits before replacing the clutch
- Compare the existing clutch assembly to the Genie parts diagram
- Use proper commercial door service procedures for adjustment and testing
Professional Advisory
Do not use clutch adjustment as a workaround for a binding door or missing safety devices. Commercial operator repairs should be completed by a trained technician familiar with the door system and site requirements.
Product Questions
What is the purpose of the clutch kit?
The clutch kit services the operator drive clutch, which helps transfer drive force through the commercial operator.
Is 112649.0001.S compatible with every Genie commercial operator?
No. It is identified for FDO applications and should be ordered only when the operator parts diagram calls for this kit.
What symptoms may point to clutch wear?
Possible symptoms include slipping, chatter, poor lifting under load, inconsistent movement, or visible clutch wear, but door balance and drive components should also be checked.
Can a new clutch fix a hard-to-open commercial door?
Not by itself. A heavy, binding, or damaged door must be repaired first, or the replacement clutch may fail prematurely.
Should this be installed by a technician?
Yes. Commercial door operator clutch service involves moving mechanical parts and setup that should be handled by a qualified commercial door technician.
