Technician Notes
- Confirm the reset button is actually faulty before ordering. A gate that will not reset or will not run may have a power, battery, safety, motor, board, or wiring issue instead.
- Inspect the button for sticking, broken cap, corrosion, water intrusion, damaged terminals, loose connector, cracked mounting area, or damaged wiring.
- Check the control enclosure around the button. A cracked box, missing gasket, loose fitting, or bad wire entry can let water reach the reset button and internal electronics.
- Do not confuse the reset button with a limit switch, disconnect switch, manual release, safety input, or stop input. These parts perform different functions.
- If the reset button has been damaged by impact or water, inspect the logic board, motor drive board, power supply, fuses, batteries, and wiring before returning the system to service.
- Label wiring before removing the old button. Do not guess on switch terminals, polarity-sensitive wiring, or board connections.
- After replacement, verify reset operation, gate travel, safety devices, warning devices, battery backup, fault status, and full open/close operation.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact part number is GE-113436.0001.S or 113436.0001.S.
- Confirm the installed Genie operator is a compatible linear actuator model where the parts diagram lists 113436.0001.S.
- Confirm you need the reset button, not the control enclosure, logic board, motor drive board, power supply, limit switch, disconnect switch, or buzzer.
- Inspect the existing reset button, connector, wiring, gasket, mounting hole, and enclosure condition.
- Confirm the gate problem is not caused by weak batteries, blown fuses, bad power supply, safety input fault, damaged actuator wiring, limit/travel issue, or control board failure.
- Confirm whether wiring, connector, nut, gasket, cap, mounting hardware, or instructions are included.
- Confirm the original button failure was not caused by water intrusion, impact, insects, corrosion, loose enclosure hardware, or previous incorrect service work.
Professional Advisory
Reset button replacement may involve control wiring, battery power, operator electronics, safety inputs, and moving-gate operation. If the gate has electrical damage, water intrusion, burned wiring, repeated faults, unknown prior modifications, or monitored safety-device issues, have the system checked by a qualified gate operator technician. Do not bypass monitored photo eyes, safety edges, reset circuits, fuses, grounding, warning devices, or operator control protections during diagnosis or repair.
Product Q&A
What is Genie GE-113436.0001.S used for?
Genie GE-113436.0001.S is a linear actuator reset button service part for select Genie gate operator repairs where the parts diagram lists 113436.0001.S.
Is GE-113436.0001.S the same as a limit switch?
No. GE-113436.0001.S is a reset button. Limit switches, travel sensors, disconnect switches, and safety inputs are different parts and should not be substituted for this reset button.
Does this reset button include the control box enclosure?
Do not assume the control box enclosure is included. The enclosure is a separate service part unless the supplier package specifically lists it with the reset button.
Can a bad reset button stop the gate from running?
It can, but a no-run condition can also be caused by weak batteries, blown fuses, a failed power supply, bad logic board, damaged motor drive board, safety faults, wiring problems, or actuator issues.
Which Genie operator uses this reset button?
This reset button is listed in Genie GLA24V linear actuator service documentation. Always confirm the installed operator model and parts diagram before ordering.
Does this part include wiring or a connector?
Package contents must be confirmed before ordering. Treat this item as the reset button only unless wiring, connector, nut, gasket, cap, or hardware is specifically listed.
What should I check before replacing the reset button?
Check the part number, button condition, wiring, connector, mounting hole, enclosure seal, water intrusion, fuses, batteries, power supply, control board status, safety inputs, and operator fault codes before replacing only the button.
