LiftMaster 15-10717 Dual Sprocket 48B10/41A24 Service Details
The LiftMaster 15-10717 dual sprocket is a commercial door operator mechanical service part for select LiftMaster jackshaft commercial door operators using the 48B10/41A24 sprocket shown in the parts diagram. This part is used in the chain and clutch drive system and should be selected by the operator parts diagram, not by appearance alone.
Commercial jackshaft and hoist-style operators can use similar-looking shafts, sprockets, disconnect plates, and linkage parts that are not interchangeable. Before ordering, confirm the exact operator model, diagram item number, part number, and any orientation or horsepower notes shown for the installed unit.
What This Part Does
This dual sprocket services the mechanical area of the operator where motion, clutching, hoist operation, or disconnect movement is transferred through the drive assembly. A worn or incorrect part can cause noise, slipping, poor engagement, binding, rough travel, manual disconnect trouble, or repeat hardware damage.
- Replacement mechanical service part for select LiftMaster jackshaft commercial door operators using the 48B10/41A24 sprocket shown in the parts diagram
- Helps restore proper operation in the chain and clutch drive system
- Used for commercial door operator repair, not for residential garage opener conversion
- Should be matched by parts diagram, shaft location, linkage position, sprocket configuration, or hand orientation when applicable
- Best installed after checking related drive, chain, clutch, bearing, and door-balance conditions
Compatible With
The LiftMaster 15-10717 is commonly associated with select LiftMaster jackshaft commercial door operators using the 48B10/41A24 sprocket shown in the parts diagram. Use cautious fitment practices because model generation, horsepower, option package, and diagram revision can affect the correct repair part.
- select LiftMaster jackshaft commercial door operators using the 48B10/41A24 sprocket shown in the parts diagram
- Operators where the service parts diagram specifically calls for this part number
- Related part numbers only when confirmed by the current parts breakdown
- Commercial door applications with the correct shaft, sprocket, disconnect, or hoist layout
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not use this part on operators using a different chain size, tooth count, bore, shaft, or sprocket stack. A part that looks close can still have the wrong length, bore, tooth count, hole pattern, hand orientation, shaft location, or linkage geometry.
- The product title shows 48B10/41A24 while the URL text appears to include 41A25. Verify the actual sprocket marking before ordering.
- Match tooth count, chain size, bore, and operator diagram.
- Check chain wear, shaft play, bearing condition, clutch disc condition, and alignment at the same time.
Similar Parts That Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
- Other LiftMaster clutch shaft kits for MJ, HMJ, MH, H, J, HJ, or GH operators
- Output shafts and clutch shafts with similar diameters but different service locations
- Disconnect plates, disconnect kits, and disconnect shaft kits from different operator families
- Sprockets with different chain size, tooth count, bore, or shaft stack height
- Left-hand and right-hand disconnect parts where orientation matters
Not Intended For
- Residential garage door opener repairs
- Gate operator gearbox, arm, circuit board, or safety device repairs
- High-voltage troubleshooting or electrical rewiring
- Operators where the parts diagram does not list this part number or confirmed related number
- Bypassing door interlocks, hoist systems, entrapment protection, emergency release functions, or required safety equipment

Related Parts and Service Checks
- Check chain condition, chain tension, sprocket alignment, and shaft play
- Inspect bearings, keys, retaining clips, springs, clutch discs, belts, pulleys, plates, and linkage hardware where used
- Confirm door balance and manual movement before blaming the operator part alone
- Look for worn mounting holes, bent plates, damaged shafts, missing fasteners, and poor return movement
- Verify the commercial operator is disconnected from power before service and tested only from a safe location
Technician Note
When replacing LiftMaster 15-10717, compare the failed part to the service diagram and the installed operator before removing more hardware than needed. On commercial doors, a worn shaft or disconnect part is often a symptom of another issue such as poor door balance, chain misalignment, worn bearings, damaged sprockets, or clutch over-tightening.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact part number is 15-10717
- Confirm the operator family matches MJ-style jackshaft commercial operator drive assemblies
- Confirm any hand orientation, horsepower range, diagram note, and related kit requirement
- Check whether the job needs a complete kit or a single plate, shaft, or sprocket
- Inspect the old part for stamped numbers, shaft length, bore, tooth count, and hardware style when applicable
- Confirm current inventory and package contents before scheduling the repair
Installation and Service Notes
Commercial door operator mechanical repairs should be performed with the door secured, power disconnected according to site safety procedures, and stored-energy hazards understood. Do not adjust springs, hoist assemblies, or high-load door hardware unless qualified to do so. After installation, test the door and operator carefully with all required safety devices and manual release functions working properly.
Professional Advisory
If the operator has damaged shafts, stripped sprockets, bent disconnect parts, repeated clutch slipping, or poor manual operation, the full door system should be inspected by a qualified commercial door technician. Do not return a commercial door operator to service if the door is binding, out of balance, unsafe, or missing required safety equipment.
Product Questions & Answers
Is 15-10717 the correct dual sprocket for my LiftMaster operator?
15-10717 may be correct only if your operator parts diagram calls for 15-10717 or a confirmed related number. Verify the exact operator model, operator family, shaft or disconnect location, and service diagram before ordering.
Can I use 15-10717 on a different commercial operator family?
No. Do not assume 15-10717 will fit another LiftMaster commercial operator family. Similar mechanical parts may use different shafts, sprockets, plates, hand orientation, bearings, or linkage geometry.
What should I inspect before replacing 15-10717?
Inspect related drive or disconnect parts for wear, looseness, damage, missing hardware, poor alignment, and door balance problems. Replacing one worn part without checking the surrounding assembly can lead to repeat failure.
Does 15-10717 include every part needed for the repair?
Package contents can vary by supplier and kit type. Treat 15-10717 as the listed dual sprocket only unless the current listing or parts breakdown confirms additional hardware, shafts, plates, sprockets, springs, or fasteners.
Is 15-10717 a safe do-it-yourself repair?
This is a commercial door operator mechanical part. The door, chain, spring system, hoist, and operator can create serious pinch, drop, and stored-energy hazards. Use a qualified commercial door technician if the repair is not clearly understood.
Why should I verify the parts diagram before ordering 15-10717?
LiftMaster commercial operators have multiple model families and generations. The correct part depends on the exact diagram location, operator family, horsepower range when applicable, hand orientation when applicable, and related hardware in the assembly.
