LiftMaster 20W33A 33-AH 12V Solar Kit
The LiftMaster 20W33A solar kit is a 12V solar package built around a 33Ah battery configuration. Compared with a 7Ah setup, the larger battery provides more reserve capacity for properly sized solar gate installations, but it still depends on correct panel exposure, expected cycles, and accessory load. The kit is commonly listed with a 20W 12V solar panel, a 33Ah battery, and the K94-37236 solar battery harness. It is often considered for LiftMaster 12V solar-ready residential and light-commercial gate systems where the manual supports the 33Ah battery arrangement. Correct application matters because a larger battery does not fix poor sunlight, undersized charging, excessive accessory draw, or a gate that is binding mechanically.

Technician Note
This kit adds reserve capacity compared with a 7Ah kit, but it still needs enough sunlight and proper panel placement. Use the operator solar chart when estimating cycles per day.
Important Ordering Warnings
- Do not use on 24V battery systems.
- Do not connect batteries or panels differently than the operator manual shows.
- Do not use solar wiring to bypass required power protection or safety circuits.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the operator uses a 12V solar configuration.
- Confirm the control box supports the 33Ah battery setup.
- Review sun exposure and expected daily cycles.
- Account for accessories such as keypads, intercoms, locks, loop detectors, or radios.
- Verify battery tray space and harness routing.
Professional Advisory
Solar installations should be sized by site conditions. For shaded entrances, dual gates, long standby loads, or high cycle counts, a qualified gate technician should review the solar/battery design before installation.
Product Questions and Answers
What is included with 20W33A?
It is commonly listed with one 20W 12V solar panel, one 33Ah battery, and the K94-37236 solar harness.
How is this different from 20W7A?
20W33A uses a larger 33Ah battery, while 20W7A uses a 7Ah battery.
Is this a 24V kit?
No. 20W33A is a 12V solar kit. Use the proper 24V kit when the operator requires 24V battery wiring.
What operators is it commonly associated with?
Common references include LA412 and RSL12V/RSW12V family applications where the manual supports the 33Ah setup.
Will a 33Ah battery solve low solar charging?
Not by itself. Poor sun exposure, high cycles, accessory draw, or mechanical gate problems can still drain the system.
