LiftMaster 881LM 4-Pack Motion-Detecting Control Panel with Timer-to-Close
The LiftMaster 881LM 4-Pack Motion-Detecting Control Panel with Timer-to-Close is a bulk-pack listing for the LiftMaster 881LM / 881LMW motion-detecting wall control panel with Timer-to-Close. This control is commonly used on newer LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 and Wi-Fi garage door openers that use the yellow learn button platform. It gives the user a clean wall-mounted control point while adding motion-based light activation and timed closing functions where the opener and safety system support them.
The 881LM is most often selected when the job calls for the Timer-to-Close feature. That means the opener can close the door automatically after a selected time period, so the condition of the door, opener, tracks, and photoelectric safety sensors matters. This part should not be used as a workaround for a door that will not close, a misaligned sensor, or a safety reversal problem.
Because this is a 4-Pack, it is useful for installers replacing several wall panels on the same service route, stocking panels for compatible yellow learn button openers, or outfitting multiple garages with the same control features. Match by opener model, learn button color, and manufacturer parts diagram before ordering.

Technician Note
This 4-Pack is best suited for installers, property managers, or shops servicing multiple compatible yellow learn button LiftMaster openers. The 881LM family is the motion-detecting control panel that includes Timer-to-Close, so it should only be used where the opener, photo eyes, and sectional door setup support unattended close. Do not use Timer-to-Close to compensate for a sticking door, missing safety sensors, or a door that does not reverse correctly.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the opener has the correct yellow Security+ 2.0 learn button or Wi-Fi / Security+ 2.0 compatibility shown in the owner manual.
- Match the wall-control model number printed on the old control panel, back cover, parts diagram, or installation manual.
- Check whether the application needs wired or wireless operation before ordering.
- For Timer-to-Close use, confirm the door is a sectional garage door and the opener supports unattended close features.
- Verify that all required photoelectric safety sensors are installed and working before using any automatic close feature.
- Do not substitute this part for older green, red/orange, purple, or billion-code control systems unless the manufacturer documentation confirms compatibility.
Professional Advisory
For normal wall-control replacement, follow the opener manual and disconnect power before servicing wiring. If the garage door moves unpredictably, reverses incorrectly, will not close without holding the wall button, or has missing or damaged safety sensors, stop and have the system inspected by a qualified garage door technician. Do not bypass photo eyes, monitored safety devices, or lockout features to force operation.
Product Questions & Answers
Why buy the 881LM in a 4-Pack?
A 4-Pack is useful for installers and maintenance departments servicing several compatible doors. It keeps the same wall-control style consistent across multiple Security+ 2.0 or Wi-Fi opener locations.
Does the 881LM work with every LiftMaster garage door opener?
No. The 881LM family is for select LiftMaster Security+ 2.0 and Wi-Fi garage door openers with the proper yellow learn button wall-control system. Older green, red/orange, purple, and billion-code openers generally use different controls.
What does Timer-to-Close do on the 881LM?
Timer-to-Close can automatically close a compatible sectional garage door after a selected time period. It should only be used when the opener supports unattended close and the safety reversing sensors are installed, aligned, and working properly.
Can the 881LM program remotes and myQ accessories?
On compatible openers, the 881LM / 881LMW style control panel can be used for supported programming functions such as remote controls, keypads, Wi-Fi opener setup, and myQ enabled accessories. Available functions depend on the opener model.
Is the 881LM the same as the 886LM?
No. Both are motion-detecting wall control families for Security+ 2.0 applications, but the 881LM is the Timer-to-Close version. The 886LM is typically used where motion lighting and programming features are needed without specifying the 881LM TTC panel.
