LiftMaster 893MAX 4-pack 3-Button Universal Remote Control
The LiftMaster 893MAX 4-pack 3-Button Universal Remote Control is a multi-pack of LiftMaster 893MAX three-button universal remote controls for customers who need several matching transmitters for compatible garage door, gate, receiver, and myQ light applications. The 893MAX is one of LiftMaster's broad-coverage remote options because it supports multiple learn-button generations rather than only one radio family.
This remote is commonly used when an older opener has been replaced, when a property has more than one LiftMaster-family opener generation, or when a homeowner wants one remote that can control up to three compatible devices. It is especially useful for mixed installations with green, red/orange, purple, or yellow learn buttons, provided the equipment uses compatible Chamberlain Group radio technology.
The key fitment check is the learn button color and code type on the opener or receiver. The 893MAX supports Billion Code 390 MHz, Security+ 390 MHz, Security+ 315 MHz, and Security+ 2.0 applications, but it should not be treated as a universal remote for every brand or for unrelated DIP-switch systems.
What This Remote Does
The remote sends a wireless command to a compatible opener, gate operator, receiver, or accessory. Depending on the remote style, each button can be programmed to a separate compatible device or channel.
Replacement remotes are commonly needed when original transmitters are lost, worn, damaged, or when a property needs additional access for family members, employees, tenants, or service vehicles. Correct programming depends on the learn button color, receiver model, and radio technology used by the existing equipment.
Compatible With
Compatibility is based on the receiver or operator radio technology, not only the brand printed on the remote. The following applications are commonly associated with this remote family when the opener, receiver, or accessory uses the correct learn button, frequency, security type, and programming method.
Common Compatible Products and Systems
- Select LiftMaster garage door openers manufactured from 1993 to current learn-button generations
- Select Chamberlain, Craftsman, Sears, Raynor, AccessMaster, Master Mechanic, and private-label Chamberlain Group openers using compatible learn-button technology
- Green learn button Billion Code 390 MHz systems
- Red/orange learn button Security+ 390 MHz systems
- Purple learn button Security+ 315 MHz systems
- Yellow round learn button Security+ 2.0 systems

Important Compatibility Notes
- Not intended for non-LiftMaster-family brands such as Genie, Overhead Door, Linear, or Multi-Code unless an added compatible receiver is present.
- Not a DIP-switch cloning remote; use 892LT/894LT or 811LMX-style products for compatible DIP-switch applications.
- Each button can be assigned to a different compatible opener, gate operator, receiver, or myQ light accessory.

Also Known As / Related Part Numbers
The following numbers and search terms are commonly related to this remote family. Some are alternate packaging, related remote families, or older technologies rather than exact one-for-one replacements. Match the receiver and programming method before treating any related number as interchangeable.
Technician Note
For best results, identify the opener or receiver learn button color before programming. Mixed-technology remotes are helpful, but the button sequence and programming mode must match the system being taught. If a remote will not program, clear radio memory only when you are prepared to reprogram every remote and keypad on that opener or receiver.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- The opener, gate operator, commercial operator, receiver, or accessory uses a compatible LiftMaster/Chamberlain Group radio technology.
- The learn button color, frequency, or DIP mode matches the remote being ordered.
- The number of remotes in the pack matches the quantity needed for the site.
- Each access point has an accessible learn/programming button or receiver programming method.
- The system does not require a managed access credential, proprietary community remote, or different manufacturer receiver.
- Any older remote being replaced uses the same technology or can be learned/cloned by this remote family.
Professional Advisory
Program and test each remote from a safe location with the door or gate in full view. A remote control should never be used to operate a door or gate with unsafe movement, missing safety devices, damaged hardware, or known entrapment hazards. For commercial door or gate systems, safety devices and monitored entrapment protection should be maintained according to the operator requirements.
Important Ordering Warnings
- Remote compatibility is not confirmed by brand name alone.
- Do not mix Security+ 2.0, Security+ 315 MHz, Security+ 390 MHz, Billion Code, and DIP-switch systems without confirming the correct remote technology.
- Residential garage door remotes and commercial DIP remotes are not always interchangeable.
- Community receivers may be locked, managed, or programmed by the property manager or access-control provider.
- If an opener has no working remotes and the learn button is damaged or inaccessible, additional troubleshooting may be required before programming.
Questions & Answers
Why choose the 893MAX 4-pack-pack instead of a single remote?
The 4-pack-pack is useful when several users need remotes for the same compatible opener, gate, receiver, or myQ light accessory. It also keeps all remotes in the same 893MAX style for easier programming and future replacement.
Which learn button colors does the 893MAX support?
The 893MAX supports compatible green, red/orange, purple, and yellow round learn button systems, covering Billion Code 390 MHz, Security+ 390 MHz, Security+ 315 MHz, and Security+ 2.0 applications.
Can one 893MAX control more than one device?
Yes. Each 893MAX has three buttons and can control up to three compatible garage door openers, gate operators, receivers, or myQ light accessories when each device is programmed correctly.
Is the 893MAX the same as the 893LM?
No. The 893MAX is a broader universal remote for multiple learn-button generations, while the 893LM is a Security+ 2.0 remote for yellow learn button systems.
Will the 893MAX work with DIP-switch remotes?
The 893MAX is not the preferred remote for copying older LiftMaster DIP-switch transmitters. For compatible DIP-switch learning or cloning applications, look at 892LT, 894LT, or 811LMX-style products depending on the system.
