LiftMaster K23-40050 Commercial Slide Gate Limit Switch
The LiftMaster K23-40050 is a commercial slide gate limit switch used in operators that rely on mechanical limit control. It is the small but important switch that is actuated by the limit mechanism as the gate reaches its programmed stopping point. When the switch is damaged, worn, or has poor contact, the operator may no longer read travel position correctly. On commercial slide gate operators, this can show up as a gate that runs past the proper stop point, stops before full travel, requires repeated limit adjustment, or faults during normal operation. Several listings associate this switch with part references 23-40050, AGS2025, AGS3023, and V15G51C26K. Because similar microswitches can look alike but have different ratings or terminal layouts, confirm the exact switch number and parts diagram before replacing it.
Compatible With
- Select LiftMaster commercial slide gate operators using K23-40050 in the limit assembly
- Commercial slide gate operator models where 23-40050 is shown in the replacement parts diagram
- Applications where AGS2025, AGS3023, or V15G51C26K is listed as a related limit switch reference
- Older commercial slide gate operators under LiftMaster, Chamberlain, or Elite branding only when the switch rating and mounting style match
- Not intended as a universal switch for all slide, swing, or barrier gate operators

Technician Note
This part should be matched by the operator model, original part number, and replacement parts diagram. Similar LiftMaster parts can look close but differ by switch rating, actuator style, chain length, bracket geometry, mounting pattern, or operator generation.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the manufacturer part number on the old part or parts diagram.
- Match the operator model and production series, not just the product family name.
- Compare physical mounting points, terminals, actuator style, chain length, or bracket layout where applicable.
- Check nearby worn parts that may have caused the original failure.
- For electrical switch replacement or unsafe gate movement, use a qualified gate or commercial door technician.
Professional Advisory
Gate and commercial door operators are heavy moving systems. Do not bypass monitored safety devices, limit controls, stop circuits, or required entrapment protection to keep an operator running. If the operator has high-voltage wiring issues, damaged controls, missing safety devices, or unpredictable movement, have the system inspected before returning it to service.
Product Questions and Answers
Where is the K23-40050 switch used?
It is used on select LiftMaster commercial slide gate operators as part of the open or close limit switch circuit.
What related part numbers should I compare?
Common related references include 23-40050, AGS2025, AGS3023, and V15G51C26K.
Why does the switch rating matter?
A switch with the wrong electrical rating or terminal style may not operate safely or may not fit the original limit assembly.
Can a bad limit switch cause a slide gate to overtravel?
Yes. If the operator cannot reliably read the limit switch, the gate may pass the intended stop point or stop inconsistently.
Is this a plug-and-play part for every commercial slide operator?
No. Confirm the original switch number and the LiftMaster parts diagram for the specific model and generation.
