LiftMaster K75-50138 Dolly Latch Kit Q080
The LiftMaster K75-50138 dolly latch kit is a replacement latch component for the dolly or trolley area of select LiftMaster overhead gate operator systems. The latch hardware helps the trolley assembly engage and hold correctly during gate movement. A worn or damaged latch can cause poor engagement, sloppy movement, nuisance release, inconsistent travel, or a gate that does not respond correctly under load. This part is most commonly associated with HCT-style overhead gate operator applications and older Elite Q080 references. Because overhead gate operator trolleys use model-specific latch geometry, this kit should be matched to the original part number or the illustrated parts breakdown before ordering.
This part is best suited for service work where the operator has already been identified and the original part location is known. On older LiftMaster and Elite gate operators, small differences in production date, UL listing generation, enclosure style, arm geometry, or mounting hardware can change which replacement part is correct. For that reason, this product page uses careful compatibility language and includes the common related numbers customers may use when searching for the part.
Compatible With
- LiftMaster HCT Series overhead gate operator perimeter access systems
- select HCT overhead gate operators
- legacy Elite overhead gate operator applications when Q080 or K75-50138 is listed in the parts diagram.
Compatibility note: Verify the operator model and original Q080 reference. A latch for an HCT overhead operator should not be substituted for slide gate, swing gate, or different trolley hardware.
Features
- OEM-style latch kit for select overhead gate operator trolley assemblies
- Commonly searched as Elite Q080
- Used where the original dolly latch is bent, worn, or no longer holding properly
- Supports smoother engagement of the trolley/dolly mechanism
- Not a universal latch for all LiftMaster commercial operators

Technician Note
When replacing this part, inspect the surrounding brackets, fasteners, bushings, pivots, wiring, covers, seals, and drive hardware in the same assembly. A failed support part can sometimes be caused by a misaligned gate, loose mounting hardware, worn clutch parts, or a cabinet that has been exposed to water or debris. Replacing only the visible damaged part without correcting the cause can lead to repeat failures.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the LiftMaster model number on the operator nameplate.
- Compare the original part number and Q-number with the parts diagram.
- Check mounting holes, linkage shape, cover style, hardware length, or electrical/mechanical configuration as applicable.
- Inspect related worn hardware before replacing only one part.
- For commercial gates, restore all covers and safety equipment before returning the operator to service.
Professional Advisory
Commercial gate operators can move heavy gates and may contain high-voltage wiring, stored mechanical force, or pinch points. Mechanical service should be performed with the gate secured and the operator power disconnected by a qualified technician when needed. Do not bypass monitored safety devices or operate a damaged gate system without proper safety protection.
Important Ordering Warnings
Verify the operator model and original Q080 reference. A latch for an HCT overhead operator should not be substituted for slide gate, swing gate, or different trolley hardware.
Product Questions & Answers
What is the LiftMaster K75-50138 used for?
The LiftMaster K75-50138 is a replacement dolly latch kit used for overhead gate operator dolly/trolley latch service part. It is ordered when the original part is worn, damaged, missing, or no longer functioning correctly.
Is K75-50138 the same as Q080?
Yes. Q080 is the common Elite or LiftMaster reference number associated with K75-50138. Related search numbers may appear in parts lists, but the installed operator diagram should still be checked.
Which operators is K75-50138 compatible with?
K75-50138 is commonly associated with LiftMaster HCT Series overhead gate operator perimeter access systems; select HCT overhead gate operators; legacy Elite overhead gate operator applications when Q080 or K75-50138 is listed in the parts diagram. Use the exact operator model and parts diagram to confirm final fitment.
What should be checked before ordering K75-50138?
Check the operator model, original part number, Q-number, mounting style, hardware condition, and any model suffix or production-date notes that apply to the installed unit.
Can this part be used as a universal replacement?
