LiftMaster KSC12-3A RFID Power Supply, 3A
The LiftMaster KSC12-3A is a 12V, 3A replacement power supply kit for LiftMaster long-range RFID reader systems. In a vehicle access installation, the RFID reader depends on a stable low-voltage supply so it can read credentials consistently as vehicles approach the gate or controlled entry point. A weak, incorrect, or failing power supply can cause the reader to drop offline, reboot, miss tags, or operate only intermittently.
This part is most closely associated with the LiftMaster LMSC1000 long-range RFID reader. It should be matched to the reader specifications, not chosen only by connector appearance. Before replacing the power supply, check the incoming power, output voltage, wire condition, surge damage, and enclosure condition. Repeated power-supply failures can point to water intrusion, poor grounding, voltage spikes, or a connected device drawing more current than expected.
Compatible With
- LiftMaster LMSC1000 Long Range RFID Reader
- LiftMaster long-range RFID reader installations requiring a 12V, 3A replacement power supply
- Select LiftMaster access control RFID applications when the manual lists KSC12-3A
- Not a general replacement for CAPXL power supplies, gate operator transformers, or strike/lock power supplies

Technician Note
Do not power an electric strike, maglock, or other high-draw accessory from the same RFID reader supply unless the access-control design specifically allows it. Shared or overloaded power can create intermittent reader problems that look like a failed reader.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the original part number on the removed component or parts diagram matches KSC12-3A or a listed related number.
- Check the exact access system model and generation before ordering.
- Inspect the enclosure for water intrusion, corrosion, broken tabs, or damaged cable connections before replacing parts.
- Do not substitute similar-looking electronic, camera, lock, or power parts unless the model documentation confirms the match.
- Disconnect power according to the manufacturer instructions before servicing the enclosure.
Professional Advisory
Access control equipment may involve low-voltage wiring, locks, network connections, or power supplies inside a live enclosure. If the system has water intrusion, damaged wiring, unsafe gate movement, or repeated electrical failures, have the installation inspected by a qualified gate or access control technician.
Product Q&A
What reader is KSC12-3A commonly used with?
It is commonly associated with the LiftMaster LMSC1000 long-range RFID reader.
Is this a 12V or 24V power supply?
This kit is referenced as a 12V, 3A RFID power supply. Match the reader specifications before ordering.
Can I use it for a CAPXL or gate operator board?
No, not unless the manual specifically calls for this part. CAPXL power supplies and operator transformers are different parts.
What symptoms can point to a bad RFID power supply?
No reader power, reader rebooting, intermittent reads, or low-voltage output can point to a power issue, but wiring and surge damage should also be checked.
Should locks or strikes be powered from this supply?
Usually no. Locks and strikes should use the power supply specified for that load so the reader voltage remains stable.
