LiftMaster MAXUM RJDC Jackshaft DC Commercial Operator with Manual Release
The LiftMaster MAXUM RJDC is the jackshaft-style MAXUM operator with manual release. The manual-release sash chain is useful for commercial doors where facility personnel may need a quick, accessible way to disconnect the operator from the door when service or emergency manual operation is required.
MAXUM DC operators are built for commercial applications with floor-level setup controls, monitored safety device requirements, and myQ Facility capability where configured. The RJDC should be specified by door type, lifting method, available mounting space, and electrical requirements.
Do not treat RJDC, JDC, JHDC, and TDC as interchangeable model names. RJDC is the jackshaft model with manual release. JDC is jackshaft without the same manual-release configuration, JHDC is jackshaft hoist, and TDC is trolley.

Technician Notes
- MAXUM DC operators use commercial door controls and monitored safety devices. Confirm voltage, phase, mounting type, door construction, and required accessories before ordering.
- MAXUM models are not universal substitutes for older mechanical commercial operators. Match the operator type to the door: jackshaft, jackshaft with manual release, jackshaft hoist, or trolley.
- Commercial door installation and wiring should be completed by a qualified commercial door technician. Do not bypass monitored photo eyes, edges, cable tension monitoring, or other required safety devices.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm exact MAXUM model required: RJDC, JDC, JHDC, or TDC.
- Confirm door type, shaft arrangement, lift type, door weight, cycle needs, and mounting location.
- Verify voltage/phase and job-site wiring requirements before ordering.
- Confirm required monitored safety devices such as CPS-U photo eyes, light curtains, edges, and cable tension monitors when applicable.
- Check whether chain guard, hoist chain, manual release hardware, or other accessories are required for the installation.
Professional Advisory
Commercial door operators involve moving-door hazards, monitored entrapment protection, and line-voltage wiring. A qualified commercial door technician should verify the application, install the operator, set limits and forces, and test all safety devices before the door is placed in service.
Product Questions and Answers
What makes the MAXUM RJDC different from the JDC?
The RJDC is the MAXUM jackshaft model with an included manual-release sash chain. The JDC is the related jackshaft model without the same manual-release configuration.
Is the RJDC compatible with MAXUM accessories?
It is part of the MAXUM DC commercial operator family and is commonly associated with MAXUM commercial accessories such as CPS-U photo eyes and approved monitored safety devices, but the exact accessory list should be matched to the job.
Can the RJDC replace any older commercial jackshaft operator?
No. Match the replacement by door type, shaft layout, voltage/phase, duty needs, safety-device requirements, and the need for manual release before ordering.
