Linear KFB125-H 830-00440 HID Credential Details
The Linear / Nice KFB125-H 830-00440 package contains 25 passive 125 kHz proximity key fobs for select HID-compatible access-control readers. Each credential uses the standard 26-bit format and is housed in a sturdy off-white ABS plastic body for convenient key-ring use.
When the fob is presented near a compatible reader, the reader obtains the credential data and sends it to the access controller. The controller then checks the enrolled facility code, credential number, user record, access level, schedules, and door permissions before granting or denying access.
What the KFB125-H Credential Does
The KFB125-H provides a compact physical credential for employees, residents, tenants, contractors, vendors, and other authorized users. It offers the convenience of a key-fob form factor without requiring a user-replaceable battery.
This product is an access credential only. It is not a reader, standalone controller, gate remote, garage-door transmitter, Bluetooth credential, or output relay.
Compatible With
- Select HID-compatible 125 kHz proximity readers
- Linear BT125-W Bluetooth and 125 kHz proximity readers, subject to system-format verification
- Linear NBT125-W access readers, subject to credential-format verification
- Linear e3 access-control systems using compatible reader hardware
- Third-party access controllers accepting the connected reader's standard 26-bit credential data
- Existing installations using the same HID-compatible technology, facility code, and credential format
Exact compatibility depends on both the reader and the access controller. A reader may detect the fob while the controller still rejects it because of an unsupported format, incorrect facility code, duplicate card number, disabled user record, or access-level restriction.
Standard 26-Bit Credential Format
Part number 830-00440 is the standard 26-bit KFB125-H credential package. The custom-format alternative is part number 830-0044C.
The official product page does not publish the facility code or credential-number range assigned to standard part number 830-00440. Verify that information from the package or supplier record before adding the fobs to an existing database.
Do not order by frequency and bit format alone. Two 26-bit credential batches can still use different facility codes or overlapping credential numbers.
HID-Compatible 125 kHz Technology
KFB125-H uses 125 kHz RFID technology intended for select HID-compatible proximity readers. "HID-compatible" does not mean that the fob is guaranteed to operate with every HID-branded reader, every multi-technology reader, or every controller connected to an HID reader.
The reader must support the credential technology, and the controller must be configured for the supplied format. Confirm the reader model, controller format, facility code, and credential-number range before ordering.
Published Read Range
Nice/Linear publishes a contactless read range of up to approximately 3.5 inches. Actual read distance can vary with the reader model, mounting surface, nearby metal, electrical interference, credential orientation, and installation conditions.
Do not guarantee the maximum range at every location. Metal mullions, steel posts, operator cabinets, and reader mounting plates can reduce performance.
Credential Enrollment
Each KFB125-H fob must be enrolled into the access-control database before it can grant access. Record the facility code and credential number, then assign the fob to the correct user and permissions.
- Verify the facility code and credential number.
- Check the existing database for duplicate credentials.
- Add or enroll the fob into the access controller.
- Assign the correct user or account.
- Configure authorized doors and access levels.
- Set schedules and expiration dates when required.
- Test the fob at every assigned reader.
- Document the assignment for future replacement or deactivation.

Professional Access-Control Advisory
Credential enrollment and access-level programming should be completed by an authorized administrator or qualified access-control technician. Test each fob at every assigned reader and confirm that schedules, access levels, expiration dates, door permissions, and audit records operate correctly.
Immediately disable credentials that are lost, stolen, returned, or assigned to users who no longer require access. Access credentials must not bypass free-egress hardware, emergency release, fire access, mechanical override, or other required life-safety provisions.
