Nice Apollo 20L24 20 Amp 24V Solar Charge Controller
The Nice Apollo 20L24 is a 20 amp solar battery charge controller for compatible 24V Nice Apollo gate operator installations. In a solar gate system, the controller sits between the solar panel array and the battery bank and regulates the charge going into the batteries. That matters because a gate operator battery system cannot be treated like a direct panel connection; the controller helps manage charging, protects the system from improper charging conditions, and gives the installer a cleaner way to monitor solar input and battery charging status. This part is most often considered when a 24V Apollo solar installation has weak battery recovery, a failed or damaged controller, incorrect charge readings, or a controller that no longer passes charging power correctly. Correct voltage is critical. This controller is for 24V battery configurations and should not be substituted for 12V Apollo solar controls or generic low-voltage charging parts without checking the full system design.
Compatible With
- Compatible Nice Apollo 24V solar gate operator systems.
- Apollo gate operators using a 24V battery configuration.
- Solar-powered Nice Apollo installations where the original charge controller is marked 20L24.
- Systems using a solar input within the controller rating and a 24V battery bank.
- May be associated with larger Apollo solar applications where 24VDC charging and 20 amp charge control are required.
Always verify the operator model, battery bank voltage, solar panel wattage, and original controller label before ordering.

Technician Note
If batteries are not charging, do not assume the controller is the only failed part. Check battery age, solar panel output, wiring polarity, fuse protection, corrosion, and operator standby draw before replacing parts.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the operator uses a 24V battery configuration.
- Match the original charge controller part number to 20L24.
- Verify solar panel wattage and input wiring are within the controller rating.
- Inspect battery condition before blaming the controller.
- Do not install this in a 12V system unless the manufacturer documentation specifically supports it.
Important Ordering Warnings
Wrong voltage or incorrect solar wiring can damage the controller, batteries, or operator electronics. High-current DC battery wiring should be handled carefully.
Professional Advisory
Gate operator parts should be matched by the operator model, part number, voltage, connector style, and installed accessory layout. For electrical diagnosis, safety-device issues, or unsafe gate movement, use a qualified gate technician. Do not bypass required safety devices to make an operator run.
Product Questions and Answers
Is the 20L24 controller for 12V or 24V Apollo systems?
The 20L24 is used for compatible 24V Nice Apollo solar gate operator battery systems, not standard 12V systems.
What does this charge controller do?
It regulates charging from the solar panels into the gate operator battery bank so the batteries receive controlled charging power.
Can I use this with any solar gate opener?
No. It should be matched to a compatible Nice Apollo 24V gate operator system and the correct battery and solar panel setup.
Should I replace the batteries at the same time?
If the batteries are old, weak, swollen, or not holding charge, they should be tested before or during controller replacement.
Can this fix a gate that will not run on solar?
It may help if the original controller failed, but solar panel output, batteries, wiring, fuses, and operator draw should also be checked.
