Transmitter Solutions RECTSWIE433-ADJ 433 MHz Adjustable Wiegand Receiver Compatibility Details
The Transmitter Solutions RECTSWIE433-ADJ is a HIVE 433 MHz adjustable-range Wiegand receiver for compatible access control transmitter applications. The receiver operates at 433.92 MHz using AM/ASK demodulation and provides 26-bit Wiegand DATA0 and DATA1 outputs.
The adjustable receiver includes a T1 sensitivity trimmer that allows receiver sensitivity to be adjusted for the installation. This can be useful where the receiver's effective radio coverage needs to be managed rather than simply operating at maximum available sensitivity.
The supplied catalog SKU is RECTSWIE433-ADJ. The official Transmitter Solutions adjustable receiver manual identifies the receiver board as RECTSWEI433. Verify the physical product label and adjustable-range hardware before replacing an existing receiver because the current public manufacturer documentation does not separately print the RECTSWIE433-ADJ catalog suffix.
What the Adjustable 433 MHz Receiver Does
The receiver accepts supported 433 MHz transmitter signals, applies its programmed manufacturer-key, facility-code, and button-type checks, and sends approved transmitter information through 26-bit Wiegand DATA0 and DATA1 outputs.
This is a Wiegand receiver. It is not documented with a standalone Normally Open or Normally Closed dry-contact relay for direct gate operator activation. The connected access control panel or compatible downstream controller must process the Wiegand credential and provide the required access command.
433.92 MHz Adjustable Sensitivity Operation
The official adjustable receiver manual identifies a T1 trimmer for sensitivity adjustment. The documented input sensitivity range is -40 to -80 dBm.
Adjusting T1 changes receiver sensitivity. It does not change the 433.92 MHz operating frequency, convert the receiver to another transmitter protocol, change the Wiegand format, or program an incompatible remote.
Receiver sensitivity should be set for the actual access area. Excessive receiver coverage can be undesirable at sites where transmitters should only be accepted near the intended gate, parking entrance, or controlled access point.
Linear, Sentex, and DoorKing Compatibility Options
Current Transmitter Solutions HIVE Wiegand receiver information lists compatibility with Linear, Sentex, and DoorKing applications. The adjustable 433 MHz manual also documents a receiver manufacturer-key check and states that a transmitter with the wrong manufacturer key is rejected.
Do not assume one RECTSWIE433-ADJ receiver automatically accepts Linear, Sentex, and DoorKing transmitters simultaneously. The exact compatibility option, manufacturer key, transmitter family, facility code, and receiver configuration must match the system being serviced.
When replacing an existing receiver, verify the original transmitter model and the exact receiver label. A 433 MHz remote from another protocol should not be considered compatible based on frequency alone.
26-Bit Wiegand Output Details
The adjustable receiver manual documents fixed 26-bit Wiegand output through open-collector DATA0 and DATA1 connections.
The documented 26-bit Wiegand frame is composed of:
- 1 even parity bit
- 6-bit facility code
- 18-bit transmitter serial number
- 1 odd parity bit
The Wiegand frame does not include transmitter button-type information. The connected access control system receives the documented facility code and serial number data in the 26-bit frame.
Receiver Initialization and Facility Code Filtering
The adjustable receiver does not send an approved Wiegand credential until the receiver has been initialized with a supported transmitter combination. The receiver checks the transmitter manufacturer key and can filter by facility code and button type.
The manufacturer manual documents an option to disable facility-code checking while retaining button-code checking. On managed access control systems, do not change facility-code filtering simply to make an unidentified remote operate. Confirm the approved facility code and credential management requirements first.
Documented Receiver Memory
The receiver EEPROM is documented to store up to 50 different facility-code and button-type combinations.
Supported transmitter button types are:
- Button A
- Button B
- Button C
- Button D
The manual specifically states that combined button types such as A+B or C+D are not allowed for this adjustable receiver programming method.
The 50-combination specification refers to facility-code and button-type combinations. It should not be described as a 50-transmitter serial-number capacity.
Antenna and Coax Requirements
The adjustable receiver provides separate Antenna Core and Antenna Shield terminals. The manufacturer manual specifies shielded RG58 cable with 50 Ohm impedance for the antenna connection.
The manual also identifies a 50 Ohm receiver input load and documents a 0 to 80 meter range with a wire antenna. Actual operating distance depends on sensitivity adjustment, transmitter condition, antenna position, coax condition, nearby metal, interference, and the installation site.
The manufacturer's current HIVE receiver page lists an optional coax antenna, while the current receiver cut sheet states that a coax antenna and wiring harness are included. The adjustable receiver manual does not separately provide a package-content list. Confirm the exact RECTSWIE433-ADJ package contents when a coax antenna or wiring harness is required.
Terminal Connections
- Terminal 1 - Antenna Core
- Terminal 2 - Antenna Shield
- Terminal 3 - Power Ground
- Terminal 4 - 12-24 VAC/DC power supply
- Terminal 5 - DATA0 open-collector output
- Terminal 6 - DATA1 open-collector output
The terminal arrangement shown for the adjustable receiver differs from the separate non-adjustable RECTSWEI433 manual. Do not transfer wiring by terminal number from a similar-looking 433 MHz receiver without checking the actual receiver board and applicable manual.
RECTSWIE433-ADJ and Standard RECTSWEI433 Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
The adjustable receiver manual shows T1 sensitivity control and a six-terminal layout with the antenna connected at terminals 1 and 2. The separate standard 433 MHz receiver manual shows no T1 sensitivity trimmer and uses a different eight-position terminal arrangement with antenna connections at terminals 7 and 8.
Both receivers are documented at 433.92 MHz with 26-bit Wiegand output, but the sensitivity specification, receiver layout, terminal arrangement, and programming details are not identical. Verify the physical receiver before moving wiring or ordering a replacement.

Package Contents Require Confirmation
Current Transmitter Solutions HIVE receiver documentation is not consistent on coax antenna package contents. The current product page identifies a wire harness and an optional coax antenna, while the HIVE receiver cut sheet states that a coax antenna and wiring harness are included. The adjustable receiver manual does not separately itemize package contents.
Confirm whether the specific RECTSWIE433-ADJ package includes the receiver, wiring harness, coax antenna, or other antenna hardware before ordering a complete installation.
Technician Note
The main ordering mistake with this receiver is treating "433 MHz" as the whole compatibility answer. The adjustable manual checks the transmitter manufacturer key, facility code, and button type. The HIVE family page lists Linear, Sentex, and DoorKing compatibility, but that does not prove one receiver accepts every protocol at the same time. Match the exact compatibility option and transmitter family, then verify that the access control panel accepts 26-bit Wiegand.

Installation and Service Notes
Receiver and antenna position can directly affect radio performance. The manufacturer manual recommends locating the receiver away from large magnetic fields and radio interference and using shielded RG58 50 Ohm cable for the antenna connection.
Set receiver sensitivity for the intended access area and test operation from normal vehicle or pedestrian approach positions. Do not use the T1 sensitivity adjustment as a substitute for diagnosing damaged coax, poor antenna placement, weak transmitter batteries, or incompatible transmitters.
For unknown Wiegand wiring, damaged access control power circuits, or unclear credential-format problems, use a qualified gate or access control technician. Do not bypass gate safety devices, entrapment protection, emergency access, or fire access functions while testing receiver operation.
