Transmitter Solutions EMP310LID21V 310 MHz Fixed-Code Compatibility Details
The Transmitter Solutions TRAEMP310LID21V is the Gate Openers Unlimited catalog SKU for the Emperor transmitter identified in manufacturer documentation as model EMP310LID21V. This is a traditional one-button visor-style wireless transmitter operating at 310 MHz for compatible fixed-code DIP-switch receiver systems.
The transmitter uses a white push button, a visor-style housing, and one 9V battery. The manufacturer identifies Linear DT compatibility and documents use with DIP-switch receivers operating at 310 MHz. The programming manual specifically describes an eight-digit toggle code switch and illustrates switch positions 1 through 8.
What This Transmitter Does
The EMP310LID21V sends a single 310 MHz radio command to a compatible receiver. It is commonly used as a replacement or additional vehicle visor transmitter when the existing receiver uses the matching 310 MHz fixed-code DIP-switch format.
Programming is performed by matching the transmitter's code switch pattern to the code used by the compatible receiver or an existing functioning transmitter. This is a fixed-code transmitter and should not be ordered solely because another remote is also labeled 310 MHz.
All Verified Compatibility
- Linear DT.
- DIP-switch receivers operating at 310 MHz, as identified in the manufacturer cut sheet.
- Linear DIP-switch digital receivers operating at 310 MHz, as identified in the manufacturer programming manual.
- 310 MHz Multicode DIP-switch digital receiver applications described in the manufacturer cut sheet, provided the receiver is actually operating at 310 MHz and uses the compatible DIP-switch coding format.
- Gate or door systems using a separately installed compatible 310 MHz DIP-switch receiver.
Important DIP Switch Documentation Conflict
There is a manufacturer documentation conflict that matters when replacing an old remote. The current Transmitter Solutions product page lists 8 dip switches. The manufacturer programming manual describes an eight-digit toggle code switch and shows eight switch positions. The manufacturer cut sheet, however, contains a "10 Dip Switches" feature line while also listing 256 code combinations.
Because the current product page and the actual programming manual identify the 8-position format, this product should not be selected as a 10-switch transmitter without checking the physical transmitter or receiver. Verify the switch bank before ordering.
Manufacturer Model Number and Catalog SKU
Gate Openers Unlimited uses TRAEMP310LID21V as the catalog SKU. Transmitter Solutions documentation identifies the transmitter model as EMP310LID21V.
One current manufacturer product-page field also displays EMP300LID21V even though the page heading, 310 MHz product category, manual, and cut sheet identify EMP310LID21V. For replacement work, verify the physical product label and the 310 MHz system requirement.
Similar Parts Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
The EMP310LID21V-C is the related Emperor ChargeGuard version. The manufacturer identifies that model as a 310 MHz, one-button, 8-DIP-switch visor transmitter compatible with Linear DT and equipped with a ChargeGuard LED. Do not assume the standard EMP310LID21V includes the ChargeGuard feature.
The Transmitter Solutions 310MCD21V2 is also a 310 MHz one-button visor transmitter, but the manufacturer identifies it as a 10-DIP-switch transmitter compatible with the Stanley 1050. It is not automatically interchangeable with the EMP310LID21V just because both transmit at 310 MHz.
Transmitters using a different frequency, different code-switch format, or a different radio protocol are not automatically compatible. Match the receiver system, frequency, and switch format before ordering.

Technician Note
The biggest ordering mistake on this transmitter is matching frequency while ignoring the code-switch format. Transmitter Solutions' own documents contain an 8-switch versus 10-switch conflict for EMP310LID21V, but the current product page and programming manual specifically show eight switch positions. A true 310 MHz 10-switch application may require a different transmitter family. Open the existing remote or inspect the receiver before ordering.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the system operates at 310 MHz.
- Check the existing transmitter or receiver for a DIP-switch code bank.
- Count the physical code-switch positions.
- Verify the existing system is fixed-code and not a different radio protocol.
- For Linear DT replacement, confirm the existing receiver or transmitter identification.
- Match the code switch pattern only to an authorized functioning transmitter or the compatible receiver's documented code setting.
- Do not substitute a 310MCD 10-switch transmitter based only on the 310 MHz frequency.
- Verify EMP310LID21V when matching the manufacturer model designation.
- Confirm current package contents if a battery or other accessory must be supplied with the order.
Installation and Programming Notes
Access to the EMP310LID21V code switches is through the bottom front cover. The manufacturer manual instructs the user to set the eight-digit toggle code switch to match the code used by another functioning transmitter or the compatible system receiver. After the code is set, reinstall the battery and cover and test the transmitter while the gate or door is visible and the travel area is clear.
If the transmitter LED does not light, inspect the 9V battery condition and battery isolator. If the LED lights but the receiver does not respond, recheck the code-switch pattern and verify receiver compatibility. Reduced operating range may indicate a weak transmitter battery, but receiver antenna problems or radio interference may also require system diagnosis.
Professional Advisory
A remote-control compatibility problem should not be corrected by bypassing gate safety devices, photo eyes, monitored safety edges, entrapment protection, or operator safety circuits. If the receiver or operator has an electrical fault, damaged wiring, or an unclear safety-circuit problem, have the system inspected by a qualified gate, garage door, or access control technician.
Product Questions and Answers
Is TRAEMP310LID21V the same transmitter model as EMP310LID21V?
