Transmitter Solutions TRALUN318LIPW2K-C Luna 318 MHz Linear Compatibility Details
The Transmitter Solutions TRALUN318LIPW2K-C is a Luna programmable two-button keychain transmitter operating at 318 MHz. Transmitter Solutions documents this model for programmable telephone entry, security, and access control systems using a compatible 318 MHz receiver.
The transmitter uses a Linear-compatible protocol and is manufactured with a factory-set serial number. It must be programmed into compatible system memory before use. This is not a DIP-switch transmitter.
What This Transmitter Does
The TRALUN318LIPW2K-C sends a factory-numbered 318 MHz wireless credential to a compatible receiver. The two-button version provides Buttons A and B for authorized functions supported by the installed receiver and access control system.
Two physical buttons do not automatically mean the system has two relays, two gates, or two independent outputs. Button operation depends on receiver compatibility, channel handling, and system programming.

Linear ACT 22B Compatibility
The current Transmitter Solutions product page specifically identifies Linear ACT 22B compatibility for TRALUN318LIPW2K-C. Linear documents the ACT-22B as a 318 MHz custom block-coded key-ring transmitter for Linear access control products.
The original Linear ACT-22B has two physical front buttons but is documented by Linear as a three-channel transmitter. The left and right buttons send separate channels, and pressing both buttons sends a third channel.
Transmitter Solutions identifies TRALUN318LIPW2K-C as compatible with the ACT 22B application, but the Luna transmitter manual does not separately document the original ACT-22B combined-button third-channel function. Verify the required receiver and third-channel operation before ordering when simultaneous two-button activation is used by the existing system.
R318 Receiver and 26-Bit Wiegand Applications
The current Luna transmitter manual identifies the Transmitter Solutions R318 receiver as operating with the TRALUN318LIP transmitter family. The manual states that the R318 receiver provides a 26-bit Wiegand format output for access control systems equipped to accept a 26-bit Wiegand input.
The TRALUN318LIPW2K-C transmitter itself does not have a wired Wiegand output. The transmitter sends its 318 MHz wireless credential to the compatible receiver. The receiver provides the documented Wiegand interface to the access control panel.
Confirm the access control panel accepts 26-bit Wiegand and that the applicable facility code, transmitter serial number, user record, and access permissions are correctly configured.
Factory-Set Serial Number and Facility Code Requirements
Each Luna transmitter is manufactured and sold with a different factory-set serial number. The transmitter must be programmed into the receiving system memory before use.
The Transmitter Solutions cut sheet also identifies custom facility codes and serial numbers as available. For an HOA, gated community, apartment property, commercial site, storage facility, or other managed access system, verify the required facility code and transmitter-number arrangement before ordering additional remotes.
A transmitter can operate at the correct 318 MHz frequency and still fail to activate the system if its credential has not been entered into the receiver or access control database.
Manufacturer Documentation Conflict on Code and Facility-Code Capacity
The current Luna manual contains conflicting capacity figures. Its general information describes a 14-bit security code allowing up to 16,384 code combinations and 6 bits of facility code allowing up to 64 facility codes.
The technical specification table in the same manual instead lists 65,536 combinations and 16 facility codes. The current TRALUN318LIPW2K-C cut sheet lists 16,384 combinations and 64 facility codes.
Because the official manufacturer documents conflict, verify the required facility code and serial-number range for the actual access control system. Do not order a managed transmitter block based only on a published combination count.
ChargeGuard Battery Status Indicator
The TRALUN318LIPW2K-C includes the Transmitter Solutions ChargeGuard three-color battery-status circuit.
- Green LED - normal battery level and normal transmitter range.
- Orange LED - attention level with limited remaining battery service and reduced range expected.
- Red LED - low battery level; replace the battery.
An illuminated ChargeGuard LED does not confirm that the transmitter is programmed into the receiver or that the receiver supports the compatible Linear radio protocol.
Two-Button Luna Model
The current Luna family manual identifies three TRALUN318LIP button configurations:
The W2K-C suffix identifies the exact two-button model. The manufacturer cut sheet identifies two blue buttons, and the Luna manual identifies the applicable transmitter buttons as A and B.
Similar Parts Are Not Automatically Interchangeable
TRALUN318LIPW1K-C and TRALUN318LIPW4K-C belong to the same documented Linear-compatible Luna family but provide one and four physical buttons. Confirm the required button and channel functions before changing transmitter configurations.
TRALUN318DOPW2K-C is a different 318 MHz Luna transmitter documented with a DoorKing MicroCLIK compatible protocol. The LIP and DOP suffixes identify different compatibility applications. Do not substitute the DOP model for the LIP model based only on Luna housing, 318 MHz frequency, and two-button appearance.
The manufacturer also identifies 318 MHz Monarch, Stingray, RCS, and Chameleon transmitter applications as compatible with the Luna LIP family. These are separate transmitter families and should not automatically be treated as the same physical product or package.
The Luna family is available in combo transmitter versions with a proximity coil for HID, Mango, AWID, or Securakey protocols. Do not assume the standard TRALUN318LIPW2K-C includes a proximity credential or proximity coil.
318 MHz DIP-switch transmitters are not automatic replacements for this programmable Linear-compatible transmitter. Fixed-code DIP-switch systems use a different coding and programming method.

Package and Battery Check
The manufacturer specifies one 12V 23A or A23 battery as the transmitter battery type and identifies this product as a keychain model. Current public manufacturer documentation does not clearly state every retail package component or specifically confirm a fresh battery in every package. Confirm package contents when battery inclusion or specific key-ring hardware is important to the order.
Technician Note
The main ordering mistake with this Luna transmitter is matching only 318 MHz and two buttons. Check the LIP suffix. TRALUN318LIPW2K-C is the Linear-compatible model, while TRALUN318DOPW2K-C is documented for a DoorKing MicroCLIK compatible protocol. Also verify the application when replacing a Linear ACT-22B because Linear documents the original ACT-22B as a three-channel transmitter even though it has two physical buttons.

Programming and Service Notes
The transmitter must be programmed into the memory of the compatible receiver or access control system. Use the enrollment instructions for the exact installed receiver, telephone entry system, or access control platform.
Do not attempt to program this transmitter by copying DIP-switch positions. Each transmitter has a factory-set serial number. Managed properties should add the transmitter through the authorized credential-management procedure for the site.
The manufacturer specifies one 12V A23 battery. Battery access is through the rear battery door after removing the fixing screw. Install the replacement battery with the polarity shown in the transmitter battery compartment.
If the transmitter LED illuminates but the system does not respond, verify that the transmitter has been programmed into system memory. If operating range is reduced, the manufacturer directs the user to replace the transmitter battery. Receiver antenna, radio interference, or access control system faults may also require diagnosis.
Professional Advisory
Do not bypass photo eyes, monitored safety edges, entrapment protection, emergency access, door reversal systems, or operator safety circuits while troubleshooting a transmitter or receiver problem. If the receiver, Wiegand wiring, access control panel, or gate operator has an unclear electrical or safety-circuit fault, have the system inspected by a qualified gate or access control technician.
