US Automatic 590050 2-Pack Limit Switches for Patriot RSL Slide Gate Openers
The US Automatic 590050-2PK includes two replacement limit switches for Patriot RSL slide gate opener service. The pair is commonly used when replacing both open and close limit switch positions or when keeping one spare on hand during field service.
When a limit switch fails, the gate may stop inconsistently, overtravel, fail to stop at the cam point, or require repeated limit adjustments. Physical damage, corrosion, loose wiring, or worn limit cams can also cause similar symptoms, so the full limit mechanism should be inspected.
This is a slide gate opener part, not the Patriot swing actuator limit assembly. Patriot RSL slide operators and Patriot swing actuators use different limit components, and the wrong part can cause improper travel or damage.
Compatible With
- US Automatic Patriot RSL slide gate openers
- Patriot RSL open limit switch position where part 590050 is specified
- Patriot RSL close limit switch position where part 590050 is specified
- Patriot RSL limit cam assemblies using the matching switch style
- Not for Patriot swing actuators, which use 510103 for the actuator limit switch assembly
- Not for Ranger, Ranger HD, Sentry, or non-US Automatic slide operators unless specifically documented

Technician Note
If a Patriot RSL is missing its stop point, check both the switch and the limit cam adjustment. A good switch cannot stop the gate correctly if the cam is loose, worn, or not contacting the actuator lever.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the operator is a Patriot RSL slide gate opener
- Compare the existing switch location and wiring to the replacement part
- Inspect limit cams, cam nuts, and switch actuator movement
- Check for water, insects, corrosion, or loose terminals inside the operator
- Use the 2-pack when both open and close limit switches are being replaced
Professional Advisory
Limit switch service should be done with the gate secured and power removed. After replacement, run a controlled test cycle and verify stop positions, safety devices, and obstruction response.
Product Questions and Answers
Is the 590050 used on Patriot RSL slide openers only?
Yes. The 590050 is for Patriot RSL slide gate opener limit switch applications where the parts diagram calls for it.
Can I use 590050 on a Patriot swing gate actuator?
No. Patriot swing actuators use the 510103 actuator limit switch assembly. The 590050 slide limit switch is not interchangeable with that part.
Why would I replace both switches?
On an older operator, both open and close switches may have similar wear or corrosion. The 2-pack is useful when servicing both positions.
Will a new switch fix overtravel?
It can fix overtravel caused by a failed switch, but loose cams, bad wiring, worn chain components, or a dragging gate can also cause limit problems.
Does this part include the limit cam assembly?
This listing is for the switch or switch pair, not a full mechanical cam assembly unless otherwise shown in the product images or parts list.
