The Genie 35221A.S is the genuine OEM bottom section of a 3-piece modular gearbox housing for the IC/PMX family of Genie residential garage door openers. It pairs with the top section (35219A.S) and the middle section (GE-35220A.S) to fully enclose the gear train inside the opener powerhead. The bottom section forms the base of the housing stack and provides structural support for the gear assembly. Individual section replacement eliminates the need to replace the complete housing when only one portion is damaged. Compatible Genie models include PMX300-IC/A, PMX500-IC/A, PMX300-IC/B, PMX500-IC/B, IC250/B.
A: No. GE-35221A.S is the bottom section only. All three pieces - 35219A.S (top), GE-35220A.S (middle), and GE-35221A.S (bottom) - are required for a complete gearbox housing assembly.
A: The bottom section serves as the base of the gearbox enclosure, supporting the gear train from below and mating with the middle section above it.
A: No. This part is specific to the IC/PMX opener family. Check your model number to confirm compatibility before ordering.
A: Yes. Because 35220A.S (middle) and 35221A.S (bottom) share the same model compatibility list, they are often replaced together when gearbox housing damage is found.
A: 26-35221A.S is an alternate catalog or SKU number that refers to the same part as GE-35221A.S.
