AES IGATE-WIFI-ENC WiFi IP Gate Opener with Enclosure
The AES IGATE-WIFI-ENC is a WiFi/IP gate opener switch with one relay output and an outdoor-rated enclosure for select gate, barrier, door, and garage door control applications. It is designed for app-based relay activation where the installed equipment supports a dry contact trigger input.
This is an IP/WiFi relay control device, not a complete gate operator, garage door opener, telephone entry system, cellular intercom, keypad, e-Loop kit, safety device, or power supply package. Match the unit by part number, network requirement, relay function, enclosure style, power input, and the gate or door controller documentation before ordering.
Primary Use
- WiFi/IP relay control for select gate, barrier, door, and garage door applications
- App-based activation of one relay output where the installed controller supports that input
- Outdoor enclosure version for installations requiring a self-contained enclosure
- Useful for adding WiFi control where a hardwired relay trigger is supported by the gate or door operator
- Commonly used where 2.4GHz WiFi is available at the installation location
Compatible With
Use AES IGATE-WIFI-ENC only where the installed gate operator, barrier controller, garage door opener, or access control input supports the relay trigger being used. Do not assume compatibility based only on the operator brand or the presence of push-button terminals.
- Select gate operators with a compatible open, trigger, step-by-step, or access control input
- Select barrier gate and door control applications where a dry relay contact is accepted
- Select garage door opener applications where the controller documentation allows external relay activation
- Applications requiring one relay output with N/O, N/C, and COM trigger terminals where specified
- Installations with reliable 2.4GHz WiFi coverage at the device location
- Jobs requiring the iGate WiFi unit in an outdoor-rated enclosure rather than a DIN rail/internal installation version

Important Comparison With Similar AES iGate Parts
AES iGate products can look similar in name, but the network type, enclosure style, relay count, power requirement, and programming method can be different. Confirm the exact part number before ordering.
- IGATE-WIFI-ENC: WiFi/IP gate opener switch with one relay output and outdoor-rated enclosure.
- IGATE-WIFI: Related WiFi/IP gate switch for enclosure or DIN rail style installation. This should not be treated as the same as the enclosed IGATE-WIFI-ENC version unless the installation style is confirmed.
- IGATE-DUAL: Related AES iGate cellular product family with different hardware, network method, and relay configuration. Not the same part as IGATE-WIFI-ENC.
- IGATE-DUAL-ASSY-US: Cellular motherboard assembly for iGate Dual. This is a replacement board, not the enclosed WiFi/IP gate switch.
- Keypads or remote receivers: Not the same part. IGATE-WIFI-ENC provides app-based WiFi relay control, not traditional RF remote control or keypad code entry by itself.
- Safety photo eyes or safety edges: Not the same part and not replaced by this device. Required entrapment protection must remain installed and operational.

Technician Notes
- Confirm the installed gate or door controller accepts the relay trigger type being used before wiring IGATE-WIFI-ENC.
- Confirm whether the application needs N/O and COM or N/C and COM. Using the wrong relay terminals can cause the gate or door to act incorrectly or fail to trigger.
- Verify 2.4GHz WiFi signal at the installation location before blaming the unit. Metal enclosures, block walls, long driveways, dense landscaping, router distance, and weak access points can all affect performance.
- Check power input before connecting the device. Low-voltage AC/DC requirements should be verified against the current AES documentation and the power source at the site.
- Do not wire this unit directly to high-voltage operator power. Use the proper low-voltage control input specified by the gate or door operator manufacturer.
- Relay control does not replace gate safety devices. Photo eyes, monitored edges, inherent entrapment protection, and required safety inputs must remain connected and working.
- If replacing another access control device, label all existing wires before removal and document the old N/O, N/C, COM, power, and common connections.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact part number is IGATE-WIFI-ENC.
- Confirm the job requires the enclosed outdoor version, not the IGATE-WIFI DIN rail/internal installation version.
- Confirm the gate, barrier, door, or garage controller accepts a dry relay trigger from an external device.
- Confirm whether the control input requires N/O, N/C, and COM wiring.
- Confirm the installation has reliable 2.4GHz WiFi coverage at the device location.
- Confirm the power source and voltage range before wiring the unit.
- Confirm relay rating, relay pulse time, app setup requirements, and user-sharing needs before installation.
- Confirm the problem is not caused by poor WiFi coverage, router settings, incorrect wiring, weak power, a bad operator input, or missing app/account setup.
- Confirm whether the package includes the enclosure, internal device, power accessories, mounting hardware, labels, or installation materials before making package-content claims.
Professional Advisory
IGATE-WIFI-ENC may connect to gate operators, barrier gates, garage door openers, electric locks, access control inputs, and other relay-triggered equipment. If the installation involves high-voltage operator power, unknown prior wiring, fire access equipment, monitored safety circuits, magnetic locks, electric strikes, or shared access permissions, use a qualified gate, garage door, or access control technician. Do not bypass safety devices, monitored entrapment protection, fire access equipment, operator control protections, or required access control safeguards while installing or troubleshooting this device.
Product Q&A
What is AES IGATE-WIFI-ENC used for?
AES IGATE-WIFI-ENC is a WiFi/IP gate opener switch with one relay output and an outdoor-rated enclosure. It is used for app-based relay control of select gates, barriers, doors, and garage door openers where the controller supports a compatible relay trigger.
Is IGATE-WIFI-ENC a complete gate operator?
No. IGATE-WIFI-ENC is not a gate motor or complete gate operator. It is a WiFi/IP relay control device that sends a trigger to a compatible gate, barrier, door, or garage door controller.
Does IGATE-WIFI-ENC work on 5GHz WiFi?
IGATE-WIFI-ENC should be matched to 2.4GHz WiFi operation. Do not assume 5GHz compatibility. Verify router settings, WiFi coverage, and setup requirements before installation.
Is IGATE-WIFI-ENC the same as IGATE-WIFI?
No. IGATE-WIFI-ENC is the enclosed outdoor version. IGATE-WIFI is the related unit used for DIN rail or enclosure-style installation where specified. Confirm which enclosure style is required before ordering.
What relay wiring should I use with IGATE-WIFI-ENC?
Relay wiring depends on the gate or door controller input. Confirm whether the installation requires N/O and COM or N/C and COM before wiring. Do not guess, especially on gates, locks, fire access circuits, or safety-related controls.
Will IGATE-WIFI-ENC fix poor gate operation?
No. IGATE-WIFI-ENC only provides relay activation. Gate movement problems can be caused by operator settings, safety devices, limit issues, bad wiring, worn hardware, weak power, or mechanical gate problems that must be diagnosed separately.
What should I check before installing IGATE-WIFI-ENC?
Check the exact part number, enclosure requirement, 2.4GHz WiFi signal, power source, relay input type, relay pulse needs, operator control terminals, and safety devices. Also confirm app setup and user access requirements before putting the system into service.
