AES IGATE-WIFI IP Gate Opener with DIN Rail Fitment
The AES IGATE-WIFI is a WiFi/IP gate opener switch with 1 relay output and DIN rail fitment for select gate, barrier, door, and garage door control applications. It is designed for app-based activation where the connected operator or controller accepts a compatible dry contact relay trigger.
This is the DIN rail fitment version. It is not the same as the IGATE-WIFI-ENC enclosed outdoor version, and it should not be treated as a weatherproof standalone device unless installed inside a proper enclosure for the site conditions. Match this unit by part number, mounting style, relay function, WiFi requirement, power input, and the gate or door controller documentation before ordering.
Primary Use
- WiFi/IP relay control for select gates, barriers, doors, and garage door openers
- App-based activation of 1 relay output where the controller supports an external trigger input
- DIN rail fitment for supported control panels or properly protected enclosures
- Useful for adding WiFi control where hardwired relay activation is supported
- Intended for applications with reliable 2.4GHz WiFi coverage at the device location
Compatible With
Use AES IGATE-WIFI only where the installed gate operator, barrier controller, door controller, or garage door opener accepts the relay trigger being used. Do not assume compatibility based only on the operator brand or the presence of push-button terminals.
- Select gate operators with a compatible open, trigger, step-by-step, or access control input
- Select barrier gate and door control applications where a dry relay contact is accepted
- Select garage door opener applications where the controller documentation allows external relay activation
- Applications requiring 1 relay output with N/O, N/C, and COM trigger terminals where specified
- Installations where the unit can be mounted on DIN rail inside a suitable control enclosure
- Sites with reliable 2.4GHz WiFi coverage at the installation location

Important Comparison With Similar AES iGate Parts
AES iGate part numbers can look similar, but the enclosure style, network type, relay count, and installation method can be different. Confirm the exact part number before ordering.
- IGATE-WIFI: WiFi/IP gate opener switch with 1 relay output and DIN rail fitment. This version does not include the outdoor enclosure unless specifically stated.
- IGATE-WIFI-ENC: Related enclosed outdoor version with 1 relay output. This is not the same as the DIN rail fitment version.
- IGATE-DUAL-US: Cellular iGate Dual product with 2 relay outputs and caller ID number capacity. This is not the same as the WiFi/IP IGATE-WIFI.
- IGATE-DUAL-ASSY-US: Replacement cellular motherboard assembly for iGate Dual. This is a board assembly, not the IGATE-WIFI DIN rail unit.
- Keypads and RF receivers: Not the same product type. IGATE-WIFI provides app-based WiFi relay control, not traditional keypad code entry or RF remote control by itself.
- Safety photo eyes or safety edges: Not replaced by this device. Required entrapment protection must remain installed and working.

Technician Notes
- Confirm the gate or door controller accepts a dry relay trigger before wiring IGATE-WIFI.
- Confirm whether the control input requires N/O and COM or N/C and COM. Incorrect relay terminal selection can cause the gate or door to fail to trigger or behave unexpectedly.
- Because this is the DIN rail fitment version, plan the enclosure before installation. Do not install the bare DIN rail unit where it will be exposed to rain, irrigation, insects, corrosion, or direct weather.
- Verify 2.4GHz WiFi signal at the actual mounting location. Metal cabinets, long driveways, block walls, router distance, landscaping, and enclosure placement can reduce signal strength.
- Check power input before connecting the device. Do not connect it to high-voltage operator power.
- Relay control does not replace safety equipment. Photo eyes, monitored safety edges, inherent entrapment protection, and required operator safety inputs must stay connected and operational.
- If replacing another access control device, label the existing power, N/O, N/C, COM, and common wires before removal.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact part number is IGATE-WIFI.
- Confirm the job requires the DIN rail fitment version, not the IGATE-WIFI-ENC enclosed outdoor version.
- Confirm a proper enclosure is available if the unit will be installed outdoors or in a harsh environment.
- Confirm the gate, barrier, door, or garage controller accepts a dry relay trigger from an external device.
- Confirm whether the control input requires N/O, N/C, and COM wiring.
- Confirm reliable 2.4GHz WiFi coverage at the mounting location.
- Confirm the power source and voltage range before wiring the unit.
- Confirm relay rating, relay pulse time, app setup requirements, and user-sharing needs before installation.
- Confirm the problem is not caused by poor WiFi coverage, router settings, incorrect wiring, weak power, a bad operator input, or missing app/account setup.
- Confirm whether the package includes only the DIN rail unit or any power accessories, enclosure parts, labels, or mounting hardware.
Professional Advisory
IGATE-WIFI may connect to gate operators, barrier gates, garage door openers, electric locks, access control inputs, and other relay-triggered equipment. If the installation involves high-voltage operator power, unknown prior wiring, fire access equipment, monitored safety circuits, magnetic locks, electric strikes, or shared access permissions, use a qualified gate, garage door, or access control technician. Do not bypass safety devices, monitored entrapment protection, fire access equipment, operator control protections, or required access control safeguards while installing or troubleshooting this device.
Product Q&A
What is AES IGATE-WIFI used for?
AES IGATE-WIFI is a WiFi/IP gate opener switch with 1 relay output and DIN rail fitment. It is used for app-based relay control of select gates, barriers, doors, and garage door openers where the controller supports a compatible trigger input.
Does IGATE-WIFI include an outdoor enclosure?
No. IGATE-WIFI is the DIN rail fitment version and should not be assumed to include an outdoor enclosure. If the installation requires an enclosed outdoor unit, compare it with AES IGATE-WIFI-ENC.
No. IGATE-WIFI is the DIN rail fitment version. IGATE-WIFI-ENC is the related enclosed outdoor version. Confirm the required mounting style and enclosure protection before ordering.
Does IGATE-WIFI work on 5GHz WiFi?
IGATE-WIFI should be matched to 2.4GHz WiFi operation. Do not assume 5GHz compatibility. Verify router settings, WiFi coverage, and app setup requirements before installation.
What relay wiring should I use with IGATE-WIFI?
Relay wiring depends on the connected controller input. Confirm whether the installation requires N/O and COM or N/C and COM before wiring. Do not guess on gate operators, locks, fire access circuits, or safety-related controls.
Can IGATE-WIFI be installed outdoors?
The DIN rail version should be installed inside a suitable enclosure when outdoor or harsh-environment protection is required. Do not leave the DIN rail unit exposed to weather, irrigation, insects, or corrosion.
Will IGATE-WIFI fix gate movement problems?
No. IGATE-WIFI only provides relay activation. Gate movement problems can be caused by operator settings, safety devices, limit issues, bad wiring, weak power, worn hardware, or mechanical gate problems that must be diagnosed separately.
