AES PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH Stainless Steel Pedestal Shell Assembly
The AES PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH is a replacement stainless steel pedestal shell assembly for select AES Prime EDGE access control units. It is commonly used when the original pedestal housing has been damaged, weathered, scratched, dented, or replaced as part of a service repair or site refresh.
This is a shell/housing component, not a complete Prime EDGE intercom or access control kit. Internal electronics, keypad modules, call buttons, display components, cellular boards, antennas, power supplies, wiring harnesses, seals, screws, trim pieces, and mounting hardware should be confirmed separately unless the supplier documentation specifically states they are included.
Primary Use
- Replacement stainless steel shell assembly for select AES Prime EDGE pedestal-style units
- Used to restore the exterior housing on compatible Prime EDGE pedestal installations
- Intended for applications where the original shell matches PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH
- Useful for damaged, weathered, dented, scratched, or cosmetically worn access control housings
- Helps maintain a clean professional appearance when the internal electronics are still serviceable
Compatible With
Use this shell assembly only where the installed equipment and AES parts documentation confirm PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH as the correct replacement. Do not assume fitment based only on the Prime EDGE name.
- Select AES Prime EDGE pedestal-style units where the parts diagram lists PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH
- Prime EDGE pedestal installations where the original shell is marked, ordered, or cross-referenced as PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH
- Repairs where the existing enclosure style, stainless finish, mounting pattern, and front panel layout match the replacement shell
- Access control sites replacing only the exterior shell while retaining confirmed compatible Prime EDGE internal components

Important Comparison With Similar AES Shell Parts
AES Prime EDGE shell assemblies may look similar across versions, but the finish, mount style, front panel layout, and mounting pattern can be different. Confirm the exact part number before ordering.
- PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH: Stainless steel pedestal shell assembly for select Prime EDGE pedestal-style applications.
- PRIME-EDGE-PBK-SH: Related powder coat pedestal shell assembly. This should not be treated as the same finish or part unless AES documentation confirms the substitution.
- PRIME-EDGE-ABK-SH: Related powder coat architectural shell assembly. This is a different enclosure style and should not be substituted for the pedestal PSK shell by appearance alone.
- Complete Prime EDGE systems: A complete system may include electronics, power supply, cellular components, antenna, keypad, display, and other hardware. A shell assembly is not the same as a complete system.
- Multicom, Opyn, Prime7, and other AES shells: Similar AES enclosure wording does not confirm interchangeability. Verify the product family and part number.

Technician Notes
- Check the installed unit label, original invoice, and AES parts breakdown before ordering. Prime EDGE shell assemblies can look similar but may differ by finish and mounting style.
- Confirm the existing unit is pedestal style before ordering this PSK shell. Architectural-style shells may not share the same mounting pattern, panel layout, or enclosure geometry.
- Inspect the internal electronics before transferring them into the replacement shell. Water intrusion, corrosion, loose connectors, damaged antenna wiring, cracked keypad trim, or display damage can cause problems that a shell alone will not correct.
- If the existing shell was damaged by impact, also inspect the pedestal, mounting base, anchors, hinge points, seals, wiring strain relief, and antenna routing.
- Do not drill, modify, or force-fit the shell around electronics unless the AES documentation confirms the component layout. Unapproved modifications can affect weather protection and service access.
- If internal wiring, relay outputs, cellular equipment, keypad wiring, or access permissions are disturbed during the shell swap, have the system checked by a qualified access control technician.
Before Ordering Checklist
- Confirm the exact part number is PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH.
- Confirm the installed unit is an AES Prime EDGE model, not Prime7, Multicom, Opyn, or another AES family.
- Confirm the enclosure style is pedestal and not architectural, imperial, flush, wall-style, or another housing type.
- Confirm the finish required is the stainless steel PSK version and not the powder coat PBK version.
- Confirm whether this item includes only the shell or any additional screws, seals, trim, gasket material, or mounting hardware.
- Inspect the existing keypad, call button, display, speaker, cellular board, antenna, wiring harness, and power supply before reusing them.
- Confirm the original issue is not caused by internal electronics, antenna damage, corrosion, relay wiring, power supply issues, cellular service, or programming.
Professional Advisory
This shell assembly does not require programming by itself, but Prime EDGE equipment may include low-voltage power, cellular modules, relay outputs, gate operator control wiring, electric locks, fire access wiring, and safety-related circuits. If the replacement involves wiring changes, relay connections, access permissions, antenna routing, or unknown prior modifications, use a qualified gate or access control technician. Do not bypass safety devices, fire access equipment, monitored protection circuits, or operator control protections during installation.
Product Q&A
Is AES PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH a complete Prime EDGE intercom?
No. AES PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH should be treated as a replacement shell assembly or housing component, not a complete Prime EDGE intercom or access control kit. Confirm package contents before ordering if you need electronics, keypad parts, antenna, power supply, or mounting hardware.
What Prime EDGE units does PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH fit?
PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH is intended for select AES Prime EDGE pedestal-style applications where the installed unit and parts documentation list this shell assembly. Verify the original part number, enclosure style, finish, and mounting pattern before ordering.
No. PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH and PRIME-EDGE-PBK-SH should not be treated as the same part. PSK is associated with the stainless steel pedestal shell version, while PBK is associated with the powder coat pedestal shell version.
Can I use PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH on an architectural Prime EDGE unit?
Do not assume it will fit an architectural unit. PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH is for pedestal-style applications where specified. Architectural shell versions use different part numbering and may have different mounting and panel requirements.
Does this shell assembly repair keypad, display, cellular, or relay problems?
No. A shell assembly only addresses the housing. Keypad failures, display issues, cellular connection problems, relay output problems, antenna faults, power supply issues, or programming errors must be diagnosed separately.
What should I check before transferring parts into this replacement shell?
Check for corrosion, water damage, cracked connectors, damaged antenna cable, loose wiring, failed seals, damaged trim, and mounting issues. If wiring or access control programming is disturbed, have the system checked by a qualified technician.
Are screws, seals, and internal components included with PRIME-EDGE-PSK-SH?
Package contents should be confirmed before ordering. Shell assemblies may not include internal electronics, keypad modules, antenna, power supply, seals, screws, trim, or mounting hardware unless specifically stated by the supplier.
