HySecurity MX000229, CHECK VALVE, 8 GPM, 3500 PSI
HySecurity MX000229 is an 8 GPM, 3500 PSI manifold check valve for select HySecurity StrongArm hydraulic barrier gate operator applications. HySecurity StrongArm parts documentation lists MX000229 as "Valve, Check, Manifold" for StrongArm models, and current listings describe it as a check valve located in the brake manifold.
This valve is part of the StrongArm hydraulic pump pack and brake manifold circuit. Because hydraulic valve fitment depends on the brake manifold layout, valve cavity, flow rating, pressure rating, hydraulic function, and operator configuration, MX000229 should be selected only after confirming the original valve, valve location, and HySecurity parts diagram.
What This Manifold Check Valve Does
A manifold check valve allows hydraulic fluid to flow in the intended direction while helping prevent unwanted reverse flow in the brake manifold circuit. In the approved StrongArm hydraulic system, this valve helps support proper hydraulic holding, controlled movement, and pressure behavior within the pump pack and brake manifold assembly.
A worn, contaminated, stuck, leaking, incorrectly installed, or wrong check valve can contribute to drifting, poor holding, uneven arm movement, hydraulic noise, pressure loss, slow response, or inconsistent barrier arm operation. Similar symptoms can also be caused by a failed brake valve, back-to-back check valve, endhead main check valve, relief valve issue, manual bypass leakage, cylinder bypass, hose leaks, contaminated fluid, pump wear, arm binding, or incorrect counterweight balance.
Compatible With
Use HySecurity MX000229 only where the operator parts diagram, original valve, or HySecurity documentation confirms this part number.
- Select HySecurity StrongArm hydraulic barrier gate operator applications where MX000229 is listed as the manifold check valve.
- StrongArm brake manifold or pump pack repairs where the original check valve is marked, listed, or cross-referenced as HySecurity MX000229.
- Applications where the 8 GPM flow rating, 3500 PSI pressure rating, valve style, valve location, and brake manifold configuration match the HySecurity parts diagram.
- Repairs where diagnosis confirms the manifold check valve is stuck, leaking, contaminated, damaged, or no longer serviceable.
- StrongArm hydraulic systems where the valve cavity and related circuit parts match the approved HySecurity brake manifold layout.
Important Compatibility Warning
Do not order MX000229 based only on the words "check valve." HySecurity StrongArm hydraulic systems use multiple check valves and related hydraulic valves. MX000229 is the manifold check valve and should not be confused with the back-to-back check valve, endhead main check valve, brake valve, manual bypass valve, relief valve, or directional valve.
Hydraulic valves are circuit-specific. A valve with a similar appearance, thread, cavity size, pressure rating, or flow rating may not perform the same function. Installing the wrong valve can cause arm drift, poor stopping, pressure problems, hydraulic overheating, or unsafe barrier arm movement.

Technician Note
Before replacing MX000229, inspect the hydraulic fluid condition, pump pack, brake manifold, brake valve, related check valves, manual bypass valve, relief valve, hoses, fittings, hydraulic cylinder, and arm balance. A drifting or dropping barrier arm is not always caused by the manifold check valve.
Hydraulic contamination can cause a check valve to stick or leak. If the system has metal debris, water intrusion, deteriorated hose material, dirty fluid, or valve damage, replacing only the check valve without correcting the contamination can lead to repeat failure.
Before Ordering, Confirm
- The required part number is MX000229.
- The operator is a HySecurity StrongArm application where the parts diagram lists MX000229.
- The repair requires the manifold check valve, not the back-to-back check valve, endhead main check valve, brake valve, bypass valve, relief valve, or directional valve.
- The required flow rating is 8 GPM and the required pressure rating is 3500 PSI where specified.
- The pump pack layout, brake manifold location, valve cavity, hydraulic circuit, and fittings match the original installation.
- The hydraulic issue is not caused by low fluid, contaminated fluid, leaking hoses, cylinder bypass, pump wear, brake valve failure, manual bypass leakage, arm binding, or incorrect counterweight balance.
- The package includes the expected valve and any required seals, O-rings, or related installation hardware, or those parts are ordered separately.
- The operator has not been modified with non-standard pump pack, brake manifold, or hydraulic valve hardware.
Installation and Service Notes
- Secure the barrier arm before servicing hydraulic valves or pump pack components.
- Do not work under an unsupported arm or counterweight-loaded arm assembly.
- Disconnect and secure operator power before servicing the pump pack area.
- Relieve hydraulic load according to the manufacturer's service procedure before removing hydraulic valves or fittings.
- Keep hydraulic ports, valve cavities, fittings, and hose ends clean during service.
- Do not swap valve locations or substitute similar-looking hydraulic valves.
- After service, check for leaks, proper arm hold, smooth travel, correct stopping behavior, proper limit operation, and all required safety devices.
Professional Advisory
StrongArm hydraulic valve service should be handled by a qualified gate technician when the repair involves hydraulic pressure, brake manifold service, pump pack diagnosis, heavy barrier arms, counterweights, valve cavities, fluid contamination, hose routing, pressure-control valves, or unknown prior modifications. Do not bypass limit controls, stop circuits, kill switches, hydraulic protections, overloads, controller protections, access control safety inputs, photo eyes, safety edges, or any required safety devices to keep the operator running.
Product Questions & Answers
What is HySecurity MX000229?
HySecurity MX000229 is an 8 GPM, 3500 PSI manifold check valve for select HySecurity StrongArm hydraulic barrier gate operator applications.
Where is MX000229 used?
MX000229 is commonly listed as the manifold check valve located in the brake manifold on select StrongArm hydraulic systems where the parts diagram confirms this part number.
Is MX000229 the same as the back-to-back check valve?
No. MX000229 is the manifold check valve. The back-to-back check valve is a separate related part commonly listed as MX000233.
Is MX000229 the same as the endhead main check valve?
No. The endhead main check valve is a separate related hydraulic check valve commonly listed as MX000171.
Can a bad manifold check valve cause the arm to drift?
It may be involved, but arm drift can also be caused by the brake valve, back-to-back check valve, cylinder bypass, hose leaks, manual bypass leakage, relief valve issues, contaminated fluid, pump wear, or incorrect arm balance.
Can I replace MX000229 with a generic 8 GPM check valve?
No, not unless HySecurity documentation confirms the exact hydraulic function, pressure rating, valve style, and valve-cavity compatibility. Similar-looking check valves are not automatically interchangeable.
Should a technician replace this hydraulic check valve?
Yes. A qualified gate technician is recommended because this repair can involve hydraulic pressure, valve-cavity fitment, fluid contamination, brake manifold service, heavy barrier arms, and safety-critical gate operator movement.
