HySecurity MX001257, VALVE CARTRIDGE, 2 POS, MANUAL
The HySecurity MX001257 is a replacement 2-position manual directional valve cartridge for select HySecurity and Nice HySecurity hydraulic gate operator systems. It is commonly listed as VALVE CARTRIDGE, 2 POS, MANUAL and Valve, Directional with Manual.
This valve cartridge is part of the hydraulic control system used in compatible operators. In the correct hydraulic manifold, the directional valve helps route hydraulic flow through the operators circuit so the gate or barrier arm can move as designed. The manual feature allows service-related manual valve operation where the operator design and service procedure call for it.
HySecurity StrongArm M30/M50 parts documentation lists MX001257 as the directional valve with manual function for standard StrongArm M30/M50 models. Current listings also associate the part with select HydraSwing and SwingRiser hydraulic operators. Because hydraulic valve cartridges are cavity-specific and function-specific, MX001257 should be selected by exact HySecurity part number, valve cavity, hydraulic circuit, and operator parts diagram before ordering.
What This Valve Cartridge Does
The MX001257 2-position manual directional valve cartridge helps control hydraulic flow direction in compatible HySecurity hydraulic systems. In the correct valve cavity, it works with the pump pack, manifold, relief valve, brake valve, hose circuit, fittings, hydraulic cylinder or hydraulic motor, and controller logic to support proper operator movement.
If the valve cartridge is sticking, contaminated, installed in the wrong cavity, damaged, leaking internally, or mismatched to the manifold, the operator may fail to move, move in only one direction, move weakly, chatter, drift, fail to release properly, or show symptoms that can look like a pump, brake manifold, relief valve, or cylinder problem.
Compatible With
The HySecurity MX001257 is intended for select HySecurity / Nice HySecurity hydraulic operator applications where this 2-position manual directional valve cartridge is specified. Compatibility depends on the operator model, hydraulic manifold, valve cavity, manual function, seal configuration, hydraulic circuit, and current HySecurity parts documentation.
- Select HySecurity StrongArm M30 standard model applications where the parts diagram lists MX001257
- Select HySecurity StrongArm M50 standard model applications where the parts diagram lists MX001257
- Select HySecurity HydraSwing hydraulic swing gate operator applications where the parts diagram confirms MX001257
- Select HySecurity SwingRiser hydraulic swing gate operator applications where the parts diagram confirms MX001257
- Hydraulic directional valve repairs where the original valve cartridge is marked, listed, or cross-referenced as MX001257
- Applications requiring a two-position manual directional valve cartridge where HySecurity documentation confirms this part
Do not assume MX001257 fits every HySecurity StrongArm, HydraSwing, SwingRiser, HydraLift, SlideDriver, SlideSmart, SwingSmart, HydraWedge, Smart DC, Smart Touch, or SmartCNX operator. Hydraulic valves must be matched by part number, valve cavity, circuit function, and operator parts diagram.
MX001257 vs. Similar Hydraulic Valve Parts
HySecurity hydraulic operators use several valve cartridges, coils, brake valves, relief valves, and manifold assemblies. These parts may look similar but are not interchangeable.
- MX001257: Two-position manual directional valve cartridge.
- MX000172: Two-position directional valve used in select systems, not the same part unless the parts diagram confirms it.
- MX000184: 24VDC directional valve coil, not a valve cartridge.
- MX000173: Quick stop / unloader valve reference, not the same part.
- MX000185: Quick stop valve coil, not the same part.
- MX000234: 10:1 braking valve cartridge, not the same part.
- MX000657: Counterbalance / brake valve reference, not the same part.
- MX000658: Relief valve, 1500 PSI, not the same part.

Do not substitute by appearance, thread size, or general hydraulic valve type. The valve function, cavity, seal style, flow path, and operator hydraulic circuit must match the original valve.
Manual Directional Valve Service Note
The manual feature on this valve cartridge is intended for the correct operator service function only. It should not be used as a workaround for a failed controller command, damaged wiring, bad coil, hydraulic pressure problem, or gate that is mechanically binding.
If the operator only works when a manual valve function is used, diagnose the electrical control side, hydraulic pressure, manifold condition, and mechanical gate movement before replacing parts. A valve may be working correctly while another component is preventing normal operation.

Important Compatibility Warning
MX001257 should be selected by HySecurity part number, valve cavity, manual directional function, hydraulic circuit, operator model, and parts diagram. A hydraulic valve cartridge that appears similar may not have the same internal function, pressure behavior, seal configuration, or flow path.
If the old valve cartridge failed because of contaminated hydraulic fluid, metal debris, water intrusion, damaged manifold cavity, wrong fluid, or a worn hydraulic cylinder, replacing only the cartridge may not correct the problem. Inspect the full hydraulic circuit before returning the operator to service.

Technician Note
Before replacing MX001257, confirm the valve is the failed component. A no-move, one-direction, weak-move, or manual-release issue can also be caused by low hydraulic fluid, contaminated fluid, a bad pump, relief valve problem, brake valve issue, hose restriction, damaged cylinder, worn hydraulic motor, electrical control fault, or a gate that is binding mechanically.
If the valve cartridge is removed, keep the valve cavity and manifold area clean. Dirt, water, metal particles, or damaged seals inside the hydraulic system can cause the replacement valve to stick, leak internally, or fail early.

- Confirm whether O-rings, seals, fittings, tools, instructions, or hydraulic fluid are included or must be ordered separately.
Installation and Service Notes
Hydraulic valve service should be performed with the operator disabled, the gate or barrier arm secured, and the hydraulic circuit handled according to the current HySecurity service procedure. Do not remove hydraulic valves, hoses, or fittings from a pressurized circuit.
Before installing the replacement valve cartridge, inspect the valve cavity, seals, manifold threads, hydraulic fluid condition, and related fittings. After installation, check hydraulic fluid level, inspect for leaks, verify proper manual function where applicable, confirm normal operator movement, and test all safety devices before returning the operator to service.
Professional Advisory
Manual directional valve cartridge replacement can affect hydraulic movement, release behavior, and operator control. A qualified HySecurity gate technician should handle this repair if the operator has repeated hydraulic leaks, weak movement, contaminated fluid, unknown prior repairs, unclear manual valve behavior, or uncertain valve cavity identification.
Do not bypass covers, guards, limits, monitored entrapment protection, photo eyes, safety edges, hydraulic controls, disconnects, or controller protections to make the operator run. The hydraulic system, mechanical assembly, and safety devices should be repaired correctly and fully tested before the operator is returned to service.
